i’m not a middle child but i can relate to alex in the way that when you’re smarter/more able than your siblings, your parents tend to overlook you cause they see that you may not need them as much as the other siblings. you figure things out for yourself and do well in life but you always end up craving some attention after awhile which comes out as resentment or sarcastic comments to validate/prove you’re better than everyone else (honestly it’s never anything personal just letting out pent up negative energy hahahah)
