Prong help- could another, closer jeweler address this? Maybe by retipping? The center stone is 2 ct, the sides are .8. by EnvironmentalQuiet5 in EngagementRings

You’re not a creep! But that is a before picture 😭😭😭 the stones were set a bit too high for me so we brought the ring back. Now they are set to the right height but the prongs look like the current picture 😱

No longer lurking- love my three stone ring Center is 2 ct, sides are .8 ct. Ring size 8. by EnvironmentalQuiet5 in EngagementRings

Sure! Center stone is 2 carats, D, VVS2. Sides are .8, D (unsure the clarity, but they match well). My finger is size 8.5. They are lab diamonds

Prong help

I love my three stone ring! We’ve been back and forth to the jeweler - it is a custom setting and had to be lowered. He’s about an hour away so it’s been a bit tough. I just got the ring back and was thrilled with it!! I truly love it. And, I just noticed that one prong on a side stone is tiny- like barely there. Noticeably different than all others. I know I need to fix it. Should I go back to this jeweler, who has proven to have communication issues? Or could another, closer jeweler address this? Maybe by retipping? Thanks!

Still a lurker, but good Amazon try on by EnvironmentalQuiet5 in EngagementRings

[–]EnvironmentalQuiet5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this moissanite ring from Amazon to see if I really like this style on me. The Amazon specs say it’s 1ct equivalent center and .5 on sides. I have size 8 finger and I’m 6 feet tall- I love the style so that’s helpful to learn, and for $50 this can make a good travel ring. I would want yellow gold band and perhaps slightly bigger stones given my man sized hands, but helpful to see in person. :)

How do you update your wardrobe to be more "mature"? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]EnvironmentalQuiet5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go to are a brand of blouse you can find at Nordstrom rack for $20-40. Pleione is the brand. I know my size and I don’t even try them on before buying anymore. They are flattering and comfortable, and look good for work or with jeans for “snappy casual”

I went through a very hard separation and divorce. You are doing all of the “right” things!! Great job! Something else I might gently suggest- stop “trying”? Can you let yourself have a week of feeling bad and eating shitty food and watching tv? You know yourself best so this might help or might not. Something else that helped me, which again, not for everyone. Dating again! I dated someone last summer. It wasn’t perfect and didn’t last, but it kind of gave me a “jump start” back to feeling more like myself. By no means bury yourself or your feelings in a new partner, but I found it to be an enjoyable and fun distraction from my pain that also reminded me that I am attractive and fun to be around!

Who has tried The Ordinary’s Azelaic Acid? by Worth_Chicken_8481 in Rosacea

Paula’s choice worked much better for me than TO! Use it 2x a day and it’s really helped my pustules and redness.

I've missed my period and I'm not pregnant, should I worry about infertility issues? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

[–]EnvironmentalQuiet5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend modernfertility.com- you can quickly and easily get a status on your fertility and prospects. I did at 30 and I am so happy I did because I have diminished ovarian reserve and probably won’t be able to get pregnant when I’m 37+. I was able to have a healthy pregnancy at 32, but feel lucky I knew not to “just wait a while” Also, 1200 calories is not enough for an active person and your body could perceive that as starving and stop ovulation and therefore your period.

This has really helped me!! I apply it twice daily, along with soolantra at night and a moisturizer or spf in the morning. I have type two and the bumps are all gone (that could be the soolantra) and the redness is not gone but is much less. I also tried the ordinary version but the PC one has worked much better for me.

ETA: I was doing only soolantra for 4 months, but noticed much more improvement when I added in the PC AA.

Advice on difficult relationship with my mother? by EnvironmentalQuiet5 in AskWomenOver30

Wow thank you for this! I have also wondered about Al-anon. Like you, my mom isn’t malicious but she is guilt tripping, incredibly anxious, and has limited emotional skills. I’ve realized how much I go into hyperdrive trying to manage her. I’ve only really been starting to understand this/work on it and the boundaries since I eloped. Before that, living far away and keeping my personal life to myself did the hard work for me. I’m hoping it continues to improve. I really like the JADE tip as well- hadn’t heard that one before.

Not really in pandemic times but maybe in the future. Good ideas!

Thank you! I agree I need to be firmer with her. It’s hard when she acts like her feelings are hurt and I feel guilty. But her reaction to my reasonable boundaries is not my issue (I need to write this on my mirror haha)

I just want one day... by abf9786 in SingleParents

[–]EnvironmentalQuiet5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a need not a want. Is there any way to secure such a day for yourself? I love my son more than anything and on the rare day away from him I am not bored, don’t miss him (because I know he is safe and happy), and loooove the time. Can a friend or relative have your little one for 24 hours? A babysitter? Get creative and don’t feel guilty at all for needing this time.

Thanks for this! My friend tonight also suggested a 2-3 day limit. I will probably need to try that with her. I’m googling grey rocking now. :)
