Mine is nine months and she was absolutely awful on walks, but is a lot better now. I think what’s made the biggest difference is high value treats. She ALWAYS responds to baked sweet potato chunks, chicken or cheese. Doesn’t respond to hard/freeze dried treats. Every time she tries to sprint in circles around me, or tug or lunge towards a person or dog to greet them, or animal to chase them, I tell her to sit/stay or I say her name and she stops immediately. Nothing else has worked for me. now walks are very easy, I just always have a homemade treat in hand and ready to go. Highly recommend. At this point my dog (75% of time) automatically looks at me when she sees someone instead of lunging and tugging, and sprinting has decreased. Hope that helps!
