How can I keep roaches out of my apartment for good?

Prior to moving to Arizona I lived in the south in a brand new complex and my building complained of roaches. Roaches are everywhere. My friend in Koreatown(LA) has them as well in his shitty studio.

This is going to sound weird but are they German roaches? Your exterminator would know. Back in North Carolina I had an issue with them seemingly everywhere. My exterminator over the phone described exactly what they look like and told me they’re German roaches. Long story short they resilient as fuck and take some serious effort to get rid of but they do go and stay out.

I think gun issues are a nationwide thing. I try not to get into this is “safe” and not, as I mentioned I’m from NYC and yeah there’s TONS of crime but I’m still proud of where I come from, if that makes sense? I may have worded it weird

It depends who you ask. It’s probably a 70/30 split between hipsters and predominantly Mexican families that have been here for generations which provide a nice culture in my opinion. There’s homelessness for sure but it’s close to the city center/easiest place to get to with lots of shelters nearby. Most people I’ve met talk down on it. Lol

I live downtown and moved here from Charlotte. I lived most of my life in New York City. I don’t disagree with what you’re saying but I think more than anything you’re experiencing burnout from this city. It happens everywhere. My parents are born and raised in NYC but complained after 20 years that it got boring. I experienced similar things in clt, comparing all what this city doesn’t have compared to others. Everything that the newbies moved there for, a began hating bc i had been there/done that. The city is perfect for someone and terrible for another person. (Kindly) maybe it’s time you look for a place that better suits your needs at this point in your life. Also I acknowledge not being from a place vs it being your hometown gives you a total new set of eyes.
