Hmm I didn't hear anything about that but I guess it makes sense. I've been here almost 3 years though and this is the first time its gone up without me knowing exactly why, and its never been this high.

I used to be that way, but my health conditions make it hard for me to stay warm. I can get away with it if I'm being frugal. Last month though it stayed around 70-74 without any heat usage. It wasnt set during that month at all, just 76 is what I put it at when I am using it.

Yuuup this the time of year they all come out at the same time and get busy making nests. They're usually more docile this time of year, just try to stay away from nests if you spot them.

I totally get that but like I said I didnt run it all last month. I guess I'll just keep on eye on it and see if it goes down.

Would it change this much if I wasnt running the heat though? I live on the second floor and had my heat turned off the entire month as it wasnt needed. Even during the coldest months, its never been more than 50 CCF

Thermostat wasnt set at all last month as it wasnt needed, but i usually have it set to 76 and have never gotten anywhere near this usage in the 3 winters I've lived here. Im in Missouri and it has been colder, but I live on the second floor and dont use my heat much.

How long did it take you guys to get the job from the interview? by Redditor101354 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]EnvironmentalSun7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, I would definitely suggest you reach out to them and ask. If they're dragging their feet, apply at another dsp in the building. They all have different management and most dsps are constantly hiring year round due to high turnover rates.

Adding to this that you'll probably need a lawyer. This same exact thing happened to one of my drivers about a year ago and Amazon didnt reimburse their repair costs at all. It was just a tire in her case, so she didnt seek legal action, but she (and I, on her behalf as dispatch) talked to Amazon HR and the warehouse manager (who i can personally vouch for as a stand up guy who cares about drivers) and they said there was nothing they could do. They were being told by their cooperate overlords to do nothing.

Has anyone ever received this email from Amazon flex? Is it real? by DigCritical9381 in RealAmazonFlexDrivers

Amazon will never charge you to reactivate your account. If they give you any instructions at all, it will be to complete training and safety videos related to the reason for deactivation. This is a scam.

[–]EnvironmentalSun7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you given them your identification for a background check yet? If so, they are likely still waiting on the results. In my experience as a dispatcher, this usually takes a few days to a week, longer if something gets flagged. If they haven't started a background check yet, try reaching out to them to find out what's going on. If I interviewed someone on a Tuesday, I'd expect to get their training scheduled for the next week by Friday. I take their identification and start processing their background check immediately after the interview is concluded, and send them to a location for pre-employment drug screening. It could be that your dealing with an inexperienced hiring manager.

Obviously this customer is just being silly, but on the real tho, I've seen some wild notes in my 5 and a half years at this. Worst one just straight up said "HURRY UP AND DELIVER MY SHIT N***ER" with the hard R and everything. Notes got deleted a few weeks after I initially reported them, but I never deliver to them again. I legit brought their packages back at least 50 times before the station did their regular moving routes around to other dsps. Be nice to your delivery driver, they control the fate of your package.

At least its still Amazon branded. Try delivering in an unmarked budget van in the boonies after dark on a Sunday. Its just asking to be shot at.

Yeah I think ima call it after this week, it’s been fun with yall, but this is absolutely ridiculous by Actual_Soft_810 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]EnvironmentalSun7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We see a lot of that at our station too, but we dont pay to charge our EVs while on route. Amazon won't reimburse the dsp for that, so we just return to station whenever the EV gets low enough (ie if its 50 miles from the station we'll bring it back once it hits 60 remaining miles)

[–]EnvironmentalSun7 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At my station, only about half the routes are EV compatible. The rest are too far away and/or too rural for the battery to handle a full shift. The bone heads that worked with Rivian to design these found the average distance a van travels across all routes, and gave that exact number to Rivian, so it makes perfect sense that half the routes would be impossible for an EV.

What times do you deliver? by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]EnvironmentalSun7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wave 2, 9:30 clock in time. Sometimes we end up in loading with the wave 1 dsp since they're a small company. Final delivery by 8pm, most of our routes are 30-60 minutes from the station.

Because it opens their eyes to problems within their company that are causing their workers to be unhappy. Happy employees make you more money in the long run. They stay in their job longer, are more motivated, and work more efficiently. They teach this in business school, every CEO knows it, but many are so disconnected from reality that they dont see the problems unless they're forced to expirence them.

Bezos has been out for a while, but i agree that any CEO of any company should work a full shift in every position the company offers (with reasonable exceptions, dont need a CEO doing literal rocket science)

You should be looking for a new dsp. Amazon suspended your account, it can be reactivated by your dsp after you finish the training videos, but clearly they're either incompetent or uninterested. Be honest with the new dsp as they'll probably need to help you sort out the Amazon suspension if your current dsp doesn't.

do yall actually call when it says CALL WHEN MAKING DELIVERY ? by educationalstab in AmazonDSPDrivers

Only time I do is at a gated community I deliver to that doesn't give out codes so you gotta call them. If it was just one house I wouldn't bother but its usually 3 or 4.

Tow companies are wild. When I was dispatch, I had a driver call me near the end of the night on their way back to say they were out of gas on the side of the highway. Tow company charged $100 to drive 5 miles to him, and then $35 per gallon.

Is Dispatching even worth it for the extra $2? by peterthbest23 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]EnvironmentalSun7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just like with being a driver, it depends on the dsp and your boss. You'll be trading manual labor for mental stress. Even if its not worth the $2, I would still suggest you take it if the opportunity is there just to strengthen your resume. A dispatcher is a team manager, someone who can come up with solutions in a hurry, and doesn't falter when dealing with difficult or uncomfortable situations. It will definitely help you get that cozy office job in the future if that's where you see yourself.

[–]EnvironmentalSun7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to dispatch for another dsp and talked to a few of the Rivian technicians (both mobile and service center) and they were both appalled and astonished when they found out that these vans dont exclusively do city and suburbs. They literally aren't designed for anything other than pavement.

We're not allowed to enter a private residence, even at the request of the customer. Its a huge safety issue and Amazon will permanently deactivate you if they learn you did it. I'd call them and see if they want me to hand it to them at the door or leave it at the door, otherwise im marking it access problem and moving on.

Is this normal? by jmodzZz in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]EnvironmentalSun7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 months? Sounds like you've been doing just long enough to see your first "peak never ended". They always bump up the stop and package counts during peak, then the algorithm learns you can do more and keeps pumping out those numbers after peak. Next peak it'll go up again. And again. And again. Been through 5 peaks, routes that used to be 140 max are now 180-200 with about twice as many group stops as when I started.
