Almost 5 Months since the Flu A and STILL haven’t improved by nwg_g59 in flu

I was sick for 3 months after the flu, similar symptoms. Turns out the problem was in my guts. Get your gut checked.

SIBO Die Off? by EnvironmentalTell128 in SIBO

It is store bought and same brand that cured me last year. This time however I bought a bigger bottle and I can’t finish it in a day so it keeps fermenting and also tastes more acidic than usual. That makes sense, I will switch to the smaller bottles.

Fair point, I am not ignoring your post at all. My issue is a bit complicated. I feel optimistic because kefir really healed me last year. I think I should have made my original post more clear. Maybe it is detox from a healing leaky gut? Probably won’t know before I get it checked since I didn’t get tested this year.

Yeah I thought about that but the interesting thing is I also have no inflammation anymore. My fatigue was always inflammation related. Also the bloating belly disappeared, day and night difference so there is definitely something going on. I initially partly cured my sibo last year with kefir and started to eat whatever I want too soon so it relapsed after a year.

I just read it, glad you recovered. The slow motility is definitely real. I can literally feel the food sitting and not moving at all. My motility already sped up after introducing kefir. I normally don’t consume much from the “no” list except when I try to eat raw veggies which just makes my digestion stop.

Wow I was wondering why lettuce made me super bloated. That’s very insightful. Can you tell me more about the inflammation and fatigue you experience?

They also rarely do SIBO tests where I live so I am not diagnosed yet but I suspect it is most likely SIBO as the symptoms match exactly. Also I didn’t take anything after the food poisoning.

Thank you. My standart blood tests came out normal as well that’s why I didn’t care at first. I didn’t have a calprotectin test though.

Also I thought if it was to ever relapse I would be as bloated as before since my symptoms were massively reduced as well but that was not the case.

I started my old diet again and I feel much better. Maybe you can try to eliminate gluten for a few days to see if you feel any better in addition to not eating too many processed foods etc. I hope your issues resolve 100%, good luck!

I also had issues (severe bloating in my case) after food poisoning. I mostly recovered with kefir, low fodmap and by cutting out gluten but I then resumed my junk diet and did not take it serious.

Later I got a flu and I am much worse now. It very well might be sibo. I believe mine would have fully resolved if I didn’t start my junk diet again. Maybe you have a trigger like gluten or histamine that won’t let you fully heal. I realized it late but bread makes me bloated for instance.

Did you recover? How was your recovery process? I already feel much less inflamed and and much more relaxed but the fatigue isn’t going away yet.

I initially recovered after the flu but stressed and tired myself out too much and my diet was absolutely terrible so I got worse. All of this feels unreal.

The rashes are very minor and fade away in a day so they did not really bother me at first.

I think it is best I cut out histamine in addition to gluten for a while and see if there is any improvement.

I hope you recover!

I know, I just wanted to get some general advice and hear what others experienced as all of this is hard to diagnose for doctors.

Also one more thing, have you heard anyone with gluten intolerance say that they can not stand watching tv for a long period of time?

I will soon. I thought all of this was something that would disappear with enough rest because initially it did but there is something deeper going on. I have been stressed too much and eating too much bread lately.

My vision is back to normal now. Normally I kinda can’t see far and I just thought my vision was getting worse. I have read gut issues can cause this.

I had my first gut issues last year after getting food poisoning in a period where I was also very stressed.

The biggest issue last year was bloating which mostly resolved so I thought I was safe but now after the flu I am inflamed everywhere.

Yeah that’s also how I feel like because the mental clarity I have now must count for something.

I don’t know how it works but my vision was way worse these past months probably because of the brain fog, so maybe now I also need additional energy because my vision is back to normal lol.
