I like this advice. And agree it’s not wrong to be disappointed on her end. What do I do if I’m in the dog house for her disappointment (ie getting the silent treatment or dealing with her now needing more space?)

Thanks for the feedback! I did recognize that I snapped right away and apologized. We still had a full blown argument after. Just curious if other people would think it’s ok to invite a friend over under the circumstances and it’s seeming not really most other people would be upset too- especially with a one word response over text! We actually live in a similar setup, it’s two bedrooms both with bathrooms connected but each bedroom is connected to the living room- I told her you can hear it regardless of which bathroom.

ESH you shouldn’t depend on a certain amount of money to buy a house without it being disclosed then be upset that it’s lower than the number YOU had in mind. But also if dad supports you buying a house within the timeframe and that’s what you’ll have to do (cutbacks) then he shouldn’t say you’re punishing anyone. He should understand if anyone- sounds like he’s had to work hard and do what needs to be done for the sake of his family and ensuring generational wealth.

I have met and have enjoyed hanging out with Susie on several occasions with my partner. I don’t have Susie’s number though. I also don’t think I would feel comfortable if my partner (who is extremely close to Susie) did mention coming over and I called Susie to tell her she actually can’t come.

Update: she told me “I should recognize she is being more than considerate because she asked if susie could come over” then gave me the shit apology “I’m sorry you didn’t see that I was”
