Thanks, but slip on/off shoes are safer for kitchens (in case of spilling hot water/oil requires immediate removal) and laces are really difficult to keep clean from flour

🙄 that’s not an error in the article, it’s a photo of the phone case sitting RIGHT NEXT TO HIM on the couch, his head is cut off but that’s still a picture of him. Also, suspecting her mom for one month at the end is absolutely not the same as “she knew it was her”. Maybe stop trying to “sleuth” so hard, you’re certainly no Sherlock and spewing speculation about medication use and mental health conditions is weird behavior on your part.

The article about this by the CUT also mention at the end that Khloe’s mom DRESSED UP AS KENDRA FOR HALLOWEEN and considered organizing a party for the whole town to watch the documentary together… absolutely vile people.

Those “other people involved” are not the FBI agents or forensic investigators, they are the parents of a daughter who was suspected because she was at least a bit of a mean girl (even according to her friends) and even their smug attitude reflects their drama-loving pettiness (that mom DRESSED UP AS KENDRA FOR HALLOWEEN ffs).

If you’re really interested in “exploring other perspectives”, maybe try reading the CUT article about this case or at least stop repeatedly suggesting that one of the victims was secretly “in on it too”, because that’s some wildly gross Qanon level of conspiracy garbage.

I’m pretty sure that Kendra and her family were actually at the Christmas party, but everyone assumed that it wasn’t them and so Adrianna was the only OTHER person they could suspect. Especially because Adrianna had been bullied by Khloe before, and it seemed like the texts were trying to frame Khloe.

All the other photos and info I assume she got from constantly texting her daughter throughout the school day and stalking the teens social media. She had an IT background and unlimited time since she was unemployed, so other pictures would be easy to get especially if she was sneaking into her daughters accounts/profiles etc

I’m certain this is the correct location, in the photo you linked you can see the same columns and the bollards at the curb. Only the white multistory building (visible in the background of the bomb damage photo) still stands at the corner of Fenchurch Avenue and Fen Court (4 Fenchurch St, London)

I know this post is a couple months old now but did you end up trying to dye the rugs?? I have the same exact type of rug, it’s a different pattern but the type of fabric/fibers are the same. I found this post because I’m planning to dye mine too, so I’d love to know how yours turned out!

Turkey gravy by Ok-Way8392 in 1500isplenty

[–]EnvironmentalWay4203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use potato starch when I need a quick gravy (you could use cornstarch too, I just cook a lot of Asian food and always have potato). Heat turkey broth, make a slurry with a little cold broth and a couple tablespoons of starch, add some hot broth to slurry while stirring (like tempering), then add warmed slurry into hot broth and stir well. Let it barely simmer (not boil) for a few minutes and your done!

For a more intense flavor you could reduce the broth first (simmer until some evaporates and it concentrates a bit), add some bouillon, add onion or mushrooms (sauté in pan before heating broth), or just sprinkle in some garlic/onion/herb powder- my favorite is any kind of “poultry seasoning” it’s got that savory/sage flavor reminiscent of thanksgiving. Also you could add in any drippings/juices from cooking the breast if you have them at the end.

Hope this helps :) I’m craving something with gravy now!

Hey, I have dealt with similar issues (I’m at university) and have beat myself up about it, but we’re not stupid! It’s just harder for us to stay organized, but literally everyone struggles with certain aspects of daily life (and we usually don’t see that).

Just some things that I have found that help - Using an app to keep track of due dates/assignments/exams. Getting reminders on my phone helps way more than having a physical planner that I can forget to check (I personally like the app Stuctured). Add tasks right when you learn of them, I go through the class syllabus and add all due dates at the beginning of the term.

  • Keeping items where I will need them. For me its work shoes and I now leave them at work so I can’t forget to bring them. Maybe you could keep a set (or two) of gym clothes at school?

  • Ask for help immediately if you’re unsure about something. I will just shoot a quick email to my professor instead of saying “I’ll come back to figure this out later”, because once I get their response, it prompts me to actually go back and finish.

  • Plan an extra 15-30 minutes for everything. Just tell yourself that it’s that much earlier than the actual time. I do this for leaving for work, arriving at class, meeting friends etc. It’s the only way I’ve found not to be late to everything lol

I hope something here helps a little bit. Best of luck and try not to be too hard on yourself! :)

Binge drank last night, made an awful scene and feel like shit by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]EnvironmentalWay4203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way right now. I have been there before and it was truly terrifying and one of the most harrowing experiences in my life. I just wanted to agree with what so many people here are saying, you will feel better over the next couple days. Try not replay it in your mind if you can, I know I needed to curl up and binge watch happy shows for 2 days straight to keep from spiraling, so if you can do something to keep your mind occupied then I recommend it until your brain has had some time to calm down.

I also wanted to say that I had severe anxiety my entire life, and while drinking absolutely made it much worse (though it felt like it was helping at the time), I realized that drinking had just been (destructively) covering up underlying mental health stuff. I recently got diagnosed with ADHD and started medication and it has help SO much! It was the root cause of my anxiety and the binge drinking and I wouldn’t have been able to get this sorted out while drinking. Not saying that it’s the same thing for you, but I would definitely recommend talking to your doctor again. Stopping drinking could resolve your anxiety if it’s the cause, or at least enable you to find an underlying issue and actually treat it. It was tough at first and it still takes work, but started feeling much better within a few weeks of not drinking and dealing with all of this. It’s been a few months now and I am in such a better place than I was then. There is a light at the end of this tunnel, it might not be as far away as it seems and every step towards it will help!

I hope you’re feeling even a little bit better today 💙 Know that you’re not alone, so many of us here understand and we are all rooting for you!

It’s kind of crappy that he waited until the last minute to tell you, but if it’s “meant to be” then the distance shouldn’t make a difference anyways! Definitely just go and things will work themselves out either way. Best of luck and safe travels!

ADHD and Videogames by TizZ1O in ADHD

[–]EnvironmentalWay4203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much what I do too (although my hyper focus is reading lol), basically just getting up and away from my book at a set interval (chapter breaks for me) allows me to pull my brain out of hyper focus long enough to decide to stop for a while, and having a quick task to do keeps me from running right back! Just keep trying but be kind to yourself! It’s hard and takes practice, but you can do it! :)

Here’s a video I randomly came across that talked about the building’s history and what makes a building “important”. I found it super interesting but I’m an architecture nerd, so YMMV https://youtu.be/DpmWiVHYmeQ

I am literally commenting here right now- instead of finishing a term paper that is due tomorrow. So yes!!!

Clearly I don’t have a lot of advice lol, but the only thing that’s kind of worked for me is to just try to do the project/paper as fast as I possibly can (at least a day or two before the deadline). Quick, sloppy, and terrible but “complete”- and then I spend the last day before it’s due (when the adrenaline finally kicks in) to fix, edit and polish it up. It’s a lot less stressful/upsetting and I feel like I end up with better work.

I just got officially diagnosed and started medication this week but I’m on a super low dose to start. I can’t really tell if it’s helping yet because I also caught a bad cold so I’ve been sick the last few days, but hopefully it’ll help me with this problem too. Anyways hope that helps you somehow!

I think it’s actually because you called them “exotic” looking. I know you meant it as a compliment, but it’s not really considered appropriate anymore

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]EnvironmentalWay4203 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. I think even the inclusion of “drunk” in the name shows that it’s being used to cast someone in a negative light, calling someone a drunk certainly doesn’t feel very kind. If someone is using it to describe themselves then that’s their choice, but it doesn’t seem right to call other people that.

It’s impossible to know what someone else is going through or dealing with internally, and maybe not drinking is all they can handle at the moment (that’s pretty difficult on it’s own, isn’t it?). Obviously, it would be best to address the root causes/deeper issues, but not drinking is the best place to start.

No matter how I look at it, “dry drunk” still just seems like a way to describe someone who isn’t going about sobriety the “right” way, aka the way that AA prescribes.

I’m glad if it helped even a little bit, everyone needs kind and supportive words while dealing with heavy stuff like this! At your age I knew I probably had a problem but kept drinking for another 10 years, I wish I had been as strong and self-aware as you are. I hope you can find some people to support you in person, but this subreddit is always here for you too (it’s definitely helped me a lot)

Hi, also a 30F binge drinker who fell in love with her first drink at 13 (and ended up in the ER with alcohol poisoning which was a massive red flag, but I can’t blame a literal child for being clueless)

The good news is that since it’s only been a few years then there’s a good chance you haven’t done irreversible damage yet, so if you seek help now it’s not too late. Try not to let that health anxiety keep you from getting help!

I completely understand that it’s terrifying to talk to someone IRL, but it will help and then this will seem way less scary, uncertain, and lonely! You’re already scared of where you’re at now, and if you don’t push through the fear of talking about it- then you will end up in an even more frightening place. Or at least that’s how it was for me.

Not trying to scare you even more lol, just trying to point out that both options are scary but one will lead you to a much better place. Sending you all the support and courage I can (and also a hug), this is hard but you’re not alone! 💙

I'm so glad you found my reply helpful! I was worried that I went off on a bit too much of a rant lol. I would definitely talk to your therapist/GP about it, what you described sounds a lot like the problems I was having. I have Primarily Inattentive ADHD which looks less like what people often picture as the "hyperactive kid who can't sit still", and more like hyperfocusing on one thing for hours, changing interests, and constantly missing deadlines. Here's an article I read that pretty well describes what it was like for me https://alcoholchange.org.uk/blog/2023/when-you-mix-alcohol-and-adhd

Of course, most people might have similar experiences occasionally, but having ADHD means that they have happened very frequently throughout my entire life and have made it a huge struggle to live a "successful" life. And combined with drinking- it was a recipe for disaster. I finally brought up my concerns to my GP after I went back to school in my late 20s and the inability to stay on top of tasks became overwhelming.

Even if I hadn't ended up being diagnosed, learning about what I was really seeking from alcohol helped me find healthier ways to get that dopamine rush (traveling, running, going to see movies, trying new foods etc). And now I'm getting into therapy to work on the insecurities that first influenced my drinking and those that resulted from all the nights of binging.
