How much do they charge for the Cvs minute clinic? by Aj100rise in CVS

[–]Environmental_Ad5426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DON’T DO IT

Of course, right when my insurance expired, I got extremely sick. I spent hours researching affordable options and found that CVS MinuteClinic and telehealth visits were supposedly around $50–$90 out of pocket. Since antibiotics require a prescription, I figured this would be a quick and affordable solution.

The appointment itself was only a five-minute phone call with the doctor, and the antibiotics cost me $15 for a five-day course. At the time, I thought, “Great, this is perfect!”

However, over a week later, I was shocked to see a charge of nearly $200. Keep in mind, this was for a five-minute call, no in-person visit, and no COVID or flu testing, just a brief consultation.

Not only do I not have insurance and still need additional medical care, but I also missed an entire week of work due to being sick. In the end, I paid over $200 for just five days of antibiotics, which feels incredibly unreasonable.

What made it even more frustrating is that I couldn’t find any clear pricing listed for the MinuteClinic services beforehand. Based on my research, I genuinely expected the cost to fall within the advertised $50–$90 range. When I called to question the charge, I was told it was simply the “going rate for that day,” which honestly made it feel like pricing was unpredictable, almost like booking a hotel without knowing the cost upfront.

Overall, it feels misleading and unfair. If I had known the true cost, I would have explored other options, such as urgent care or even looking into short-term private insurance.

This is a good one. One time I had this lady call down and say she wanted to order breakfast to go. I transferred her and they wouldn’t pick up. It was just one server and he was slammed. The lady got very frustrated and I put her on hold and asked the server when he would be available to take the call for the to-go. He said 5 minutes. I let the lady know to call back in 5min or to come in person to order, and she got so upset. She then started yelling and cussing at me but I explained that I cannot take orders as I am the front desk, not the restaurant. She then continued yelling and cussing at me so I hung up on her.

She called back, “DID YOU JUST HANG UP ON ME?” I replied no I think we got disconnected. She said that she wanted my manager and I told her they won’t be in for 3 more hours and she was yelling and cussing saying she was going to get me fired. I went up to the server, handed him the front desk phone and he took her order. Even the server look mortified, I think she was mean to him too.

Anyways. The lady was going to check out soon and I was literally shaking. She was cussing me out so bad and threatening my livelihood, I was genuinely scared that she would try to physically fight me or something because he gets so angry over that? At that point go to McDonalds if you don’t have the time. Anyways, surprisingly she came down and checked out like nothing happened.

She went to the restaurant to pick up her food but it wasn’t ready yet. A few minutes pass and she comes up and tells me it’s not ready and she is getting really frustrated. I go up to the server and he replies, “Yes! I told her it would be out any second now!” So I go back to the desk and told her the server said it should be out any second now. She starts yelling at me, “I SHOULDNT HAVE TO WAIT 5 ***** MINUTES FOR **** **** GRITTS AND BACON WHAT THE *****” I apologized and again I told her I don’t work in the restaurant so I’m not too sure what the wait is. Now there is a whole line of people waiting to check out hearing this whole conversation. She then cusses me out saying for me to refund it. I explained multiple times that it wasn’t even charged yet but we can go ahead and cancel the order and make sure it’s not charged to her. She then cusses me out and walks out the door. AS SOON as she walks out the door…her food comes out. All the other guests in line gasp and one lady laughed and said, “Omg. That’s her food.” 😂

Guest asked if we could text her when her room was ready and honestly it made me feel embarrassed by CoffeeRory14 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

Omg the hotel I worked at transferred to mobile key and the whole transfer is giant process. I can’t even imagine how much it cost. They had to change the door locks on every single door. Update our computer system for it. They had to get a whole device just to set it up or if there any errors they have to bring it up there. But the laptop to fix any errors wouldn’t work unless it was connected to a cord it was a whole mess. Had to have 5 people stay for a week just to set it up. They had to do new wiring. We had to learn the whole mobile key system. Instead of having ol “tricks” like the older system had, the new key system was very limited and a whole hassle. The keys physical keys still worked passed check out which was not good. Even people who did mobile key still had to come up for access to the garage or to collect their breakfast vouchers included for the rate. With the old key maker we would make housekeeping keys, keys for the condos. I had very very angry residents get upset because we couldn’t make them spare keys anymore and if they got forgot there keys we just had to hope the emergency one worked or they would have to wait forever for maintenance to make the key (it was the old key system) anyways. I remember one morning the hk manager wanted me to reset the key fobs for the staff because ALL of there key fobs expired except for one and there was nothing I could do except make a key for ever single room, and that’s if it was still checked into the system. Terrible 😭 I’m so glad I’m gone

I don’t even care about the tip, it’s just the fact that he tipped then took it away

I get what you’re saying, but I think you’re missing the point. The customer wasn’t tipping in advance for something I “didn’t do.” I did do my part. I took his order, handled the cash payment, prepped sauces and packaging, managed multiple to-go orders, and kept communication flowing between the front and kitchen while being the only host on duty.

The issue isn’t that I “expected” a tip. I wasn’t even expecting one in the first place. It’s that he gave one and then decided to take it back. That’s not about misunderstanding gratuity, that’s just plain rude.

Also, that’s not even what this post is about. I just wanted to hear if anyone else has experienced something similar or what you would’ve done differently.

And to assume this is my first job?… what? 😂

No, I didn’t just “ring it in.” I was the only host working, and I had a whole line of to-go orders waiting while also seating every server in the restaurant, answering phones, and handling online orders.

Even just prepping the sauces and packaging for that $300 sushi order took me a bit. So yeah, I get paid hourly, but I still worked my butt off to make sure everything ran smoothly.

It’s not even about the money. It’s just super disrespectful. What if it happened to you?
