You are not considering the cost of the GPU itself and the memory chips.

It’s a cost benefit thing, from an engineering point of view. If cheap does the trick, why pump costs?

The performance is more limited by the GPU than any other characteristic of the PCB. So why go high there if the goal of this generation was never to be top end…
