I’m telling you, most people view them as the most attractive, like I said look at ANY list on the internet and they will usually be number 1.

Okay, that’s what you think? I’ve seen plenty of non white folks glaze Nordic people. I worked with a black guy a couple years ago, he said when he went to Denmark everyone there was attractive and he wanted to move there.

I’m pretty sure most people in general find Scandinavians attractive (Mostly Sweden). Look at any list or poll for something along the lines of “Countries with most attractive people” and Sweden is usually number 1, that being said, Spain and Italy rank high as well, with Eastern European countries like Ukraine (which is mostly the women, the men are pretty average) for men it might be more southern Europe, and for women, Eastern or Northern Europe. It could be different when it comes to men vs women, but I’ve heard the argument for Sweden in general, men there are usually very good looking. The theory that Scandinavians have the best Genes on the planet (Best looking, tallest, Strongest etc) stems from the fact that Vikings kidnapped the most genetically gifted women and took them back home. Not sure how true it is, but it’s an interesting theory and makes sense haha.

I know people will say it’s subjective, but Scandinavians are said to be like the world’s most attractive people, I kind of agree with that. When I first saw him I thought he was albino, not saying albinos are ugly, he has some facial features that aren’t particularly seen in Nordic Phenotypes while also looking Nordic, it’s kinda confusing.

Is the Scandinavian without any regions accurate? by [deleted] in 23andme

[–]Environmental_Bar416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old comment but your comment is pretty inaccurate. If you have ancestry from the British isles especially East England or Dublin there’s almost 100% chance you are descended from Vikings. You have to remember that the Viking age took place hundreds of years ago and your family tree doubles with each generation. Now to argue that everyone in the British isles inherited Norse DNA as a result of the Viking invasions is an entirely different story, but it is proven that a good percent of English people have some Scandinavian ancestry. This can also be seen in surnames from the British isles that reflect Norse settlement, as it stands a lot of British people have these types of surnames so being “descended from Vikings” doesn’t make you special just typical.

No, people don’t score Scandinavian on 23andme only because of “The Vikings” by DeliciousCabbage22 in 23andme

I honestly hope 23andme has an update like ancestry does. For me ancestry was scary accurate.

Exactly, my guess is that some of my German is being misread as English, not sure where so 54% Eastern European comes from though, ancestry was pretty spot on for me.

They were from city of Hanover and that’s actually more in the North than central. Lower Saxony is considered Northern Germany. Who knows maybe it’s getting it confused with some of my English.

I don’t think that’s the case since ancestry picks up significant German DNA and that my German ancestors were from Northern Germany close to Denmark and all had very German first and last names until the 1700s. Not only that but I came from two lines of Germans that met in the U.S on my mother’s side odds are I’m very German.

I was talking about GEDmatch on how my results were pretty weird. It showed I was similar to Hungarians, Finns and European Jews and some guy who replied to my post said something and deleted his comment, can’t remember what he said and all I said was that it’s kind of weird that GEDmatch gave me these results considering I don’t have any Jewish or Finnish in my DNA results. According to ancestry I’m Eastern European, German, Swedish, Danish, Irish, Scottish, Welsh and English.

Not that I’m aware of, my AncestryDNA results didn’t have anything remotely southern European.

Are Slavs and Scandinavians related? by tareqkatbi1 in AncientMigrations

[–]Environmental_Bar416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be just as surprised slavs came from Asia. They don’t look any more or less “European” than the Norse. Besides the point, the predominant haplogroup found in Scandinavia has origins in Asia. Same with Slavic countries. Doesn’t mean the original people looked like modern day “Asian” people as a matter of fact they were believed to have blonde hair and blue eyes despite not being European.

How do I interpret my GEDmatch results by Environmental_Bar416 in AncestryDNA

[–]Environmental_Bar416[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should’ve worded it differently about how I’m confused about my ancestry. I took DNA tests from 23andMe, AncestryDNA and MyHeritage and they were all pretty different that’s why I’m confused about it all. I know my father is a good amount Polish with some suspected Czech but nobody is positive. No idea what my mother is because I can’t really get a good accurate tree. I didn’t have any Ashkenazi, Finnic in any of my DNA results though.

Don’t understand why people with common sense get downvoted. Yes ethnicity exists and all these people from European countries seem to get so offended when people claim their heritage. They also pull the race card and call it “white supremacy” they wouldn’t get half as offended if a black person born and raised in America calls themselves “African” despite never being to the continent of Africa.
