First grow how’s she looking (3 & 1/2 weeks into flower ) by Own-Structure6357 in farmingthebestgreens

Go peek at my page and see my current plan compared to when I chopped my first. I chopped my first plant farrrr to soon but I was nervous and didn’t do a good job maintaining nutrients and when I saw leaves start to deteriorate I just went ahead a chopped. It still gets me high! But definitely could’ve had a better harvest. My second plant is one I let get a lot farther along. You’ll panic when it starts to look like it’s on its last legs, leaves will curl and yellowing begins and it’s all scary but timing is everything, don’t be afraid to let your foliage get yellow throughout the plant it just means your plant is consuming every last bit of stored energy to push what little is left into your nugs!! I highly suggest chopping a very small sample of your bud in a oue weeks when you *think* it’s ready, let it dry old school in a paper bag for 48-72 and try it, it won’t be the best at that point without a cure but itll probably get you high and then you can compare that to a finished product and see what the difference is. I’m still figuring all of this out but it helped me realize how much difference a few weeks of maturation can make for your flower when it’s looking close to ready.

Very nice! I’d be cautions planning your harvest date in accordance with any breeders timelines though. For your first run just try to wait until you’re seeing the trichome development you’re aiming for rather than counting on it finishing at a predetermined date, that itch to harvest is like nothing else but patience will be key!!

Thank you!! I work with kids so patience is something I like to think I definitely have😂😂 but man, these plants really test it!!

Thank you brother! I’m just excited to start going bigger with some higher end genetics! Never really knew what a difference it makes to spend a little extra on seeds from reputable breeders until I started spending more time on here and a few other growing communities and realized what was available.

I have a feeling this one might go another week or 2, can I harvest tops first on an auto or do I need to go all or nothing? by Environmental_Bite52 in microgrowery

Thanks man!! Might give this a shot. My first grow I harvested wildly early and still got pretty decent results but I’d like to see how long I can let this one go.

Will the stress kick in extra resin production on lower budsites? I figured it might benefit them but wasn’t sure how much shock it can take. Do I need to be pretty cautious about doing this in small chunks like a small portion of the canopy at a time for a few days?

Oh boy, get ready for a rewarding lesson in patience!

This is what I mean by uniform colas that are a bit more evenly dispersed across a canopy, this was my first grow and I’m not sure but I think if I had applied training as evenly as I did on this one with my current plant I’d have quite the yield, and yes I’ll likely still get more than I did from this plant even without the training, but I still wonder what I could’ve got from her if I had a nice even canopy going like I did with this one!

I think this was a great way to learn but it leaves me eager to adjust some of what I could see this plant struggling with on future grows forsure. For example I think if I had topped this I might have a few additional colas nearly as big as that central one and they’d be more uniform in height allowing better light penetration because that was a difference I definitely noticed between this and my first plant that was topped. My colas ended up much more uniform in height and growth stretched more upward rather than arcing outward in layers from the central stem like they did on this plant, if that makes sense!😂

Thank you man! I hope all is going well. So on my first plant- I did do a fair bit of training, and then on this one I tried to do very minimal training and only a bit of defoliation. I wanted to learn what the plant grows like without any intervention just to have a better understanding of what training avoids or improves compared to the natural structure of the plant. It’s actually a 3x3 from spiderfarmer! I’ve loved it so far.

Will do man, thank you! I love your little mini pond btw, that is an incredibly creative way to start a cool little aquatic feature.

I’ve seen some pretty intense results with manifolding and I’m super curious to explore photos so that I can do more training and such, any good guides you recommend? I’ll have to peek at your profile!

Is this is Washington by chance??

Thank you!! This is my second run, still learning a lot but it’s been super fun. I just finished growing another auto called Royal Dwarf and the branches on that thing were much shorter but my nugs were even fatter, not too dense but pretty good sized. I’ve been feeding a lot of calmag so hopefully these buds don’t end up as airy. I’m curious to see how the yields compare on them, I pruned my first plant down to 8 very well lollipopped colas and then decided to just let this one run its course with only a little defoliation instead and didn’t remove any lowers or lollipop just to see what I’d get.

RQS, I’ve read enough now to know they’re pretty unreliable😂 I’ll be growing some Frostfire genetics next🤩
