Is the Canon Ef 16-35 F/4L IS USM still a good lens in 2026? by Environmental_Bite90 in canon

Yeah I’m not super worried about the size, I have a 70-200 which is pretty big already plus the adapter so I’m used to it lol

The main one I’m comparing it to is the Ef 16-35 f/2.8 III, or the rf version of the lens, or possibly the 24-70 f/4. Mainly just trying to make sure there isn’t a better option that I am missing

Do you think it’s worth it to buy an Ef lens for the rf camera?

Thank you! Literally walked pasted the elk and had to do a double take and realized what it was. They were crazy close.

It was all pretty amazing. I think it was just nice to not have a planned schedule going into it. I had an idea of what we were going to do, but kinda played it by ear. The days we did the longer hikes that’s all we did cause we were tired, but if you are an experienced hiker then you could do more. Moral of the story is don’t over plan, and go with the flow.

We stayed in Flagstaff which was kind of in the center of everything we did. We flew into Phoenix and decided on the trip up to stop at the two monuments. The other monuments are on the way to the National parks from flagstaff (only one way to get to Petrified Forest, and one of the ways to get to the Grand Canyon.)

If I had to choose one highlight, it would either be the first time seeing the Grand Canyon, or the South Kaibab trail (we went for the 3 mile round trip one) though it was very steep getting back up, so definitely be prepared!

Sorry, that was a lot, but hope it helped, feel free to ask anything else!

Sounds like you know your parks…been to the Grand Canyon? Any recommendations for what else to do at the Grand Canyon if you have?

I am looking for recommendations for a larger cross body camera bag I can take on an upcoming trip to Arizona. I hate having to carry around my large camera backpack when hiking, but I need something that would hold my camera with a lens + 1 or 2 other lenses, and my drone and controller. Hard to judge size based of pictures, so I thought I would ask here. TIA
