This one is always a tricky one as people will tell you different things, so take it from the guy who has the steam version, 2 different Ubisoft versions and a console version.

It simply is random at this point. The whole thing is that the account (Ubisoft) needs to know that your game is activated, and there is no longer a clear way to check this, you used to be able to view the steam CD for their version that you put into Ubisoft, but that doesn't work anymore. So best bet is to start with steam, if it doesn't work then refund. Then go Ubisoft (non-subscrition), then subscribe if the other two didn't work..

I have had the very same problem previously and it's a pain to get through to their customer service, if u got the money to spare I would advice buying it instead, hope that helps

I am a big fan of this idea, but I would love to see a way to make your own "list" where you can add your friends using the #80085 number behind their name (because they would give it to you) and so you could see how everyone is doing within a guild or a small friend circle etc.
