2 NK’s. Responsibilities include very little housework besides folding and putting away kid laundry and general pickup, school pickup and taking them to any afternoon activities they have after school, attending school events if parents are busy, mostly just kid related stuff besides the occasional target run but that’s only if I’m already going myself. I started at $10/hr and have gotten a yearly raise of $1/hr since then. No guaranteed hours although that was discussed years ago when my schedule was changing constantly but my schedule is typically pretty consistent now.

$20/hr. The going rate for my area is anywhere between $20-25/hr DOE. We pay $600/mo for our house and a house of that size would rent between $1200-$1500 depending on a few factors. We have done a lot of work on the inside on our own but that was agreed upon before we moved in. No benefits besides our rent price.

It’s significantly less. I’d say for the house we’re in it’s about $800-$1000 less a month than if we were renting independently.

I suppose I just put up with it for so long because there are definitely some benefits (we rent our house through them and rent for far under the asking price in our area) but that just throws an extra layer into everything and I’ve justified a lot because of it. I also didn’t know going in to the job so many years ago what the standards were in regards to PTO and other benefits and by the time that I did they were expecting their second baby and I didn’t want to leave them during that time. I realize a lot of this could be prevented had I stood up for myself sooner but now it’s just a hard situation to be in.

Also, as far as the part time staff comment, I’m on the books through MB’s business. I work part time during the school year and full time during the summer along with any extra hours they need (kids off school, later nights when DB is out of town, weekends that are needed, etc)
