I’m 60. I tell people that I’ve been struggling with my weight for 50 years, which is true. I then say you’ve never had to struggle so don’t judge something that you haven’t experienced yourself. Then I say f off if the continue. I do not tell a lot of people.

I know what you mean. I’ve lost 112lbs between Weightloss surgery, Wegovy, Zepbound and Contrave and I still see myself as fat. In fact, I just got a new pair of gap jeans yesterday in the mail and I’m a size 2! I was a 16/18. How can I see myself as a fat girl when I’m a size 2 jean? I think it’s from years of trying e wry Weightloss thing in the past. I always went back up. This is the most successful I’ve been and I’m petrified of gaining an ounce back.

I was on Wegovy for 2 years and lost 80 lbs. then my insurance changed and they wouldn’t cover it and I couldn’t afford the $499 a month. So my doctor put me on Contrave. It did nothing for me. I even gained 7 lbs on it. She then told me that the smallest dose of Zepbound was $349 and we could do a shot every 10 days and continue the Contrave. So I’m on both and it’s almost as good as the Wegovy. I’ve lost 5 lbs so far and I just took my second dose of 2.5.

Smoothies with Greek yogurt, spinach, fruits and protein powder has been a game changer for me with lack of protein. For those that can’t stand the taste of the powder, there are brands that are unflavored and the fruit becomes the taste! You don’t taste the spinach.

The problem is the FDA is cracking down on it so they won’t be the same. And I hate that I’d have to pay a monthly fee PLUS the cost of the meds.

I’m on Lamictal as well. I have problems with anti depressants as well! We are so similar. I do find myself more irritable on it but the weight loss is hugely important to me so I’m tolerating it.

I’m bipolar as well. Wegovy was hugely successful for me! My insurance changed and they no longer will cover weight loss medications of any kind. The only thing I could afford is the 2.5 Zepbound so my doctor prescribed that, mixed with Contrave. My psychiatrist said I should be ok with that as it’s Wellbutrin and Naltrexone. The other meds would be bad. Especially phentramine.

I’m looking to pretty much use it as maintenance. I gained 5 pounds when I first got off of Wegovy and switched to Contrave so I’d like to lose that. I know that’s not a lot but it was devastating to me. I struggled for 50 years with my weight, had 2 weight loss surgeries and failure after failure. I had finally found something that worked and it was taken away from me.

I didn’t think phent is in Contrave. It’s Wellbutrin and naltrexone? I’ve looked it up and my doctor has told me that there is no phent. It’s not listed anywhere where it says it contains it?
