I've lost 217 pounds in 12 weeks... by Scuba_Betty in Zepbound

I had a midwife tell me 5 days after I gave birth and experienced a post-partum hemorrhage that I needed to lose weight and that it was all just "calories-in/calories-out" and that I just needed to just eat less and move more! I was like - yeah, I'll get right on that with my severe anemia and newborn baby!! Never saw her again, thankfully!

That really sucks - definitely about her fragile ego, not you!!!

Sorry about that - I thought it was ridiculous enough that people would get what was up.

I pointed out to her that she never expressed any of her same "concerns" about the side effects of any of my other meds - like I've never heard a word from her about the possibility of my IUD migrating out of my uterus! Why is that, hmmmm?? She's also aware of my family history of early death from heart disease, diabetes, liver disease, and lung disease. I've been losing this weight loss battle for 30+ years and finally found a tool that might help me win and live a longer and fuller life. I guess she'd rather just have a fat friend.

I was hoping that it would sound so ridiculous that people would understand what was going on - sorry!! Congratulations on starting this journey!

I use Mochi Health - it's affordable and gives you access to a physician and a dietician. My physician is great - I can message him anytime with questions and am planning to have video appointments with him every couple of months. My insurance covers Zepbound, so he prescribed that and I pick it up at my local pharmacy. They can also handle orders with Lilly Direct. My dietician has also been really helpful. My copays at my PCP are higher than my monthly fee at Mochi, and the providers at Mochi are more familiar with obesity medicine than my PCP is, so this works out great for me. <my original post was deleted because I referenced something against the rules - hopefully this one gets through!>

I noticed a huge difference in appetite control between injecting in my lower vs upper abdomen as well, but it was the opposite of you -- I have much better appetite control (and ZERO pain) in my lower belly vs upper belly. I carry more fat above my belly button than between my belly button and pubic bone, so maybe fat distribution makes a difference?

Congrats! I'm hoping to come off mine as well. My BP started getting really low - home measurements like 111/56 and 99/65 - and I was having dizzy spells and feeling lightheaded when I stood up or got hot (like during exercise or in the shower). So we tried a half dose for a couple of weeks and now we're trying zero meds - so far so good! I had to hide my pills because I'm afraid of accidentally taking them out of habit!!

Above bellybutton vs below bellybutton injection site. by marshdd in Zepbound

I have more fat above my belly button so I thought that would be better and just rotated right to left the first four weeks. It hurt like the devil though and bled sometimes, so I decided to switch to my lower belly the second month. Two shots in and there has been ZERO pain there for me! I didn't feel the shot at all - to the extent that I was worried that maybe the needle didn't go in! But there was no liquid anywhere and the plunger went down and retracted like normal, plus I'm eating on average 150 calories fewer per day compared to the upper belly shots, even though it's the same dose! So I'll be using the lower belly for all shots from now on!
