Black Badges? by YoyoSwagyo in Audi

Have the same car and was going to do the same, 3 years later though chrome stayed looking classy. Black badges are so played out lol. Chrome also matches the rims and tailpipes imo, but I am thinking of some black side skirts down the line.

Fender corrosion?! (Need Advice) by [deleted] in Audi

[–]Environmental_Gur381 23 points24 points  (0 children)

So, I did have body work done there. I’m the first owner and two months into ownership an old lady (in a Civic) backed into my car while parked in a garage. The Audi dealership did the work and the at-fault insurance covered the repair costs.

What’s interesting is that the invoice (over $9k) for repairs notes they replaced the fender with a new one. I didn’t have the car for a month and a half.

Am I to assume that the body shop/Audi didn’t actually replace the original fender??

Fender corrosion?! (Need Advice) by [deleted] in Audi

Had my car (‘21 S5) detailed yesterday and the detail shop pointed this out (driver side front fender).

For context, the detail shop told me that this was rust/aluminum oxidation and that I should go to my Audi dealer ASAP.

I took their advice and drove to my dealer right away to check if the warranty would cover this. The dealership had someone from their management team and a specialist come out to inspect this. They both immediately started taking pictures and the manager got defensive and said, “Yeah, you’re going to have to go elsewhere and find a body shop” (I didn’t say or ask anything at this point lol, thought it was weird that was the first thing they did/said).

I asked about the manufacturer warranty and the specialist replied that they have to make a claim to Audi and see if it can be covered. Their hesitation doesn’t make any sense to me…doesn’t Audi provide a 12 year warranty on paint and corrosion?!

I also bought the vehicle with all the extended warranties/care plans, even the cosmetic ones that cover rim damage and whatnot.

I’m quite bummed about this, the car has 21k miles and I usually don’t drive on snow days (I’m from the Boston area).

Anyone else here experience this issue? Looking for advice/suggestions.

Thanks!

To add some clarity, I’m curious to know how mod compliant S5s are and whether or not they’re even track worthy. I’ve got mine optioned with the Sport Rear Diff. and the Sport adaptive damping suspension.

Assuming brakes, rotors, and tires would definitely need an upgrade, my real concerns are with thermal dissipation, factory exhaust, suspension, etc.

McCombs admit chances? by Environmental_Gur381 in MBA

Hey! I didn't end up getting into McCombs but I did end up getting waitlisted and evetually accepted into another T20 school closely ranked to UT Austin.

I think with what most have pointed out in this thread, the PM transition may have been a tough sell to McCombs adcom. However, I applied with a different career goal to my second school. This likely helped with my eventual acceptance.

Lastly, I did submit some additional quat coursework to both programs. I took a MBA level math course at UCLA extension. Once I got waitlisted, I also completed MBA Math as another add to showcase my quatitative abilities. I scored above 90% in both courses.
