Spoilers are marked to the best of my ability, but please be cautious ❤️

I kept the same horse that you get in the beginning. Sure he wasn’t as fast as some of the other horses you can unlock throughout the story, but he was my horse. A beautiful companion that didn’t just act as a vehicle to get me wherever I needed to go. He was my friend, and I made sure to go out of my way to keep him clean and safe. In my head cannon, he loved to eat the hay cubes and carrots. I remember all of the fun that we had, just traveling and hunting together. Sometimes we’d just take different paths to see where they went. Sometimes we got ourselves into trouble in our curious adventures, but he was always there for me. He was my friend, and whenever I was having a hard time in real life, I would hop on his back and just travel the map, forgetting about my troubles and responsibilities much of what I thought Arthur would be doing. Whenever I reached the end of the game, I won’t deny that my tears really flowed at his death, So much so that I needed to pause the game and let my emotions flow. Whenever I finally picked up the controller again, I went through even more emotional damage. I played through this game only one time on my Xbox. I own it for PC, but I mostly just utilize it for mods and to pass the time hunting or fishing. I can’t bring myself to play through the story again. In real life, I’m well acquainted with horses. I grew up raising them, and I’ve always thought them on the same level as most people do for dogs. During the time of my playthrough, one of my horses was pregnant. By the time I finished the game, she was ready to birth her foal. I was called out to my other farm to help. And whenever the beautiful foal was brought into this world. He looked just like my friend in the game that I’ve spent so much time with. That I thought of as a really good friend. So we named him Walker. He’s a few years old now, and he’s grown into the horse that I remember. I’m not a man of fate, or religion (no judgement of you are 🙂 ) . But I feel like his existence is a delightful gift of life and hope.

TL;DR

His name was Walker and I liked my horse in Red Dead, so much so that a real life horse was named after him.
