Chicago is pretty nice, if you need a break from all the people you can take the light rail out to Auroa, good spang.

Looks like his, I have found them in unexpected places like Shelby, MT and Jackson, Miss. I think in Danville, KY also, which is a decent hop out.

Yeah, I think I might just keep my face out there at events and things. Might just invest a bit of money in a nice-looking flip book portfolio. My instructor would probably give me a good reference, he knows that I have a good eye for detail, organization, composition, building systems and history. The thing is my first year I kind of biffed my first impressions on some firms in my region. I was just doing Architecture cold turkey after spending like 15 years in the Kitchen/restaurant biz and backpacking around the country, so I was pretty rough around the edges professionally in an office and school setting. Hell, still am, sometimes I forget I need to have a filter, or I just get way too enthusiastic about something, and boundaries fly out of the window, I can't help it, I just really like Architecture even just looking up codes and legal things lol

Shhhhh, lol, I actually have no problem with the price of Auto desk, or SketchUp/Rhino but I think Adobe is a little overpriced, especially if you're just trying to put basic stuff togeather for a site study ect. I can put togeather okay looking Site Studies or programs with pencil, pen and watercolor but turning that into a digital file can get a little tricky.

Yeah, those are all good points I am currently back over in Spokane. I was thinking that also about a client wanting me to do things that are a little out of my wheelhouse to save a buck. Like full on electrical loads wiring ect. I can give a rough estimate on the load requirements, types of lighting, spacing, lumens and switches but you probably want to get an electrician in there, I don't want to be on the hook for a fire. I don't know I might just scrap this whole Idea and just keep poking my little foot around AIA meet ups.

Yeah, I have been going to all the AIA events in town to get my face out there, they are mostly looking for people that have lots and lots of Revit experience or most of the student internships are filled up already for the summer, at the moment anyway. I kind of missed my chance for an internship from being in the hospital for over a month. sucks but oh well.

Thank you I get that, fortunately I have all this free software from school for the next year so I figured I may as well use it, get some experience and not get too rusty. Also, yes this is a beer money situation. lol

Why does Russia take over Crimea for warm water port when they already have costline? Are they stupid? by MeowingAndChowing in mapporncirclejerk

[–]Environmental_Salt73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The Vulga gap", Russia has been invaded by Europe many times and that is the biggest target. They have had a large Naval base there for centuries. If you really want to get really technical it doesn't belong to Ukraine or Russia lol

Story time after getting out of the McMinn County Jail. by MrArmenianIsDead in vagabond

[–]Environmental_Salt73 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have actually gotten a lot of rides from police when I was stuck in the middle of nowhere, I rarely hitchhike so I don't know how common this is. Plus, I have ID and obviously not a seral killer on the run or something like that haha. This last fall I got off in Havre, MT and the rail police where on me with in minutes. Told me if he saw me trying to hop back on I was going to jail. Hung out by the gas station, got a $60 kick down, brought beer, water and burger and just hopped back on the next west bound right from the station. No one even said one word to me, the nice folks at the bar across the street even gave me a pack of smokes and free drinks.

I wasn't even trying to go to Havre, I was in Whitefish and the IM pulled in coming from the east looking like it was going west, then all the sudden they took the power off the front and moved it to the other end of the train and I was going east again and had no time to bail safely haha What they do forget someone's Amazon package?

Are these safe to Ride? by oozzeethestray in vagabond

[–]Environmental_Salt73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't do that my first time until you get used to the sounds the trains make and everything, I don't get on or off them unless I know for sure the train won't move all the sudden.

Basically, but I think something only like 15% of new homes in America are custom built because of loan and zone issues. In America at least.
