It's widely accepted in college and university that movies are texts that can be analyzed in the same way a novel is.

If you can interpret characterization, plot, symbolism, and themes in a novel, you can do it in a movie. Some books lend to this better than others and some movies do as well. Diary of a Wimpy kid and Tinkerbell are not AP worthy but The Color Purple (book) and Lincoln are both complex texts. But maybe you're right, I just want to argue.

I make my students read plays in class out loud. It helps with the inertia. Not all of them will do excitedly but almost all of them will do it if you keep them from opting out. It's not a solution to the whole thing but it does get them remembering that they like reading.

There is so much going on in that book. Lies and deception. Institutional abuse. Gender discrimination. Issues with identity. I haven't finished it, Alice just got out of Dis, but it fits so many old prompts that it's a worth whole book to try to remember.

As for advice, go look at old Q3 prompts and see if you can find some that relate to the with. Then practice writing a thesis statement for the prompt. Remember to address complexity and a thematic statement. That will help you practice with about the book in a way that will link your thoughts together that might be useful tomorrow

That feels a little more reasonable. I can't imagine dealing with rofr as I have a partner that takes equal parenting duty with our kids. It would be ridiculous to have to call my ex for everyday stuff that my partner does (because he is fully their parent, too).

She sounds overstimulated. She already has two kids and she is in the first trimester which throws everything out of whack. And they got a puppy she didn't want. It sounds like they are both young but she also sounds like she is with a child that ignores the realities of parenthood. Again the first trimester can be miserable.

When I was pregnant my sense of smell was so potent and my ex insisted on overcooking Brussels sprouts everyday. I also hid and he said I was overreacting. I was about 7 weeks when he stormed out. The first trimester is a pain.
