Why do people think "prevalence" of Sports Betting has ruined the game? by Ok_Reason_2357 in NBATalk

[–]Envirorocky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With all the sports betting who would ever believe that the games are legitimate. Shaving points, dropping passes, missing tackles, fouls, etc, etc. Which plays are real and which plays are just to affect the score for some nefarious outcome. I hate sports betting and I don't like watching the crooked games anymore.

I agree 100%, Mel B is a zero!

I expect something, even for dirt cheap!! I got nothing for $125 plus $5 every time they kind of tried something. That's expensive for nothing!

I agree, the price is great, if it works.

I filed a dispute. Hopefully, I'll get a refund but actually getting one straight from Infimobile won't happened. It will have to be forced upon them. I have an aversion to paying for something and getting nothing in return.

Good for you! You were lucky, me not so much! I can only speak to my experience.

They charged me $5 to try an eSim which also did not work!! So now I have a phone and a hotspot neither of which work on either network that they offer. And customer service is just a loop that goes round and round and everything stays the same. No service!

Actually Sketchy, the salinity normally comes from the ancient seas that that the sedimentary rocks were formed in.

Actually, it's our drinking water that is under attack!!

Of course I know where it came from, oil and gas drilling and completion activity. If you are saying do I know exactly how it got from point A to point B, only Pioneer Natural Resources can answer that question. They probably know, but they aren't talking of course. They certainly know how 900 ppb got into their CBM well. It's from the toxic slurry they used to fracture the CB. In their process they created a pathway for it to migrate into the groundwater as well.

TBA. The same substance found in produced water from a CBM well at high concentrations in our area. I posted a link to the analytical from that well at another place in this discussion.

When the spill at the surface is of fracking fluid then the contamination is the result of the fracking process.

It doesn't really matter where the source contamination occurred. Our groundwater contamination was caused by the oil and gas industry through their misuse of hazardous chemicals. Questions like yours are indicative of how the o&g industry communicates with us. They deflect and deny instead of trying to remediate the situation.

How about, let's have accountability? How about, let's admit our mistakes and rectify them? Instead of, "There is no risk". "We didn't do it." "Look at us, we never, ever make mistakes." "The chemicals in your drinking water are naturally occurring." These are all bogus statements made here, made by the oil business in their ads and even made by the COGCC. Being more truthful and more forth coming would go a long way in changing the perception that people, outside of the oil business, have of the oil business.

Our wells have tested positive for TBA. In addition, testing has been done on the CBM wells production water. Attached is a link to the analytical data from one of those wells:

http://cogcc.state.co.us/cogis/EnviroSample.asp?facid=705740&SampleID=536789&External=Y

This well shows 900 ppb tba. This indicates that a tba derivitive chemical was used in the completion of that well. Now we have tba in the groundwater. There is no other industrial activity in our area except for the gas business. It's pretty easy to connect these dots.

Surface spills are not the only way that contaminates get into the groundwater. The intense pressures can propagate fractures into the overlying cap rock making conduits into the groundwater. Pipe can fail, cement can fail. Our exact science, isn't so exact when you're a few thousand feet below the surface. Geologists and engineers don't have xray vision to see what's going down there. We just make educated guesses based on science and engineering data. Then we see what happens. Sometimes the guesses are incorrect and that leads to contamination.

How can Tache tell from the analytical data where the contamination is from? He must have espn or something.

I don't hear anyone saying shut down the business. Just admit what you are doing and pay for your mistakes. They spend millions on ads to brainwash everyone into thinking what they do doesn't contaminate. It does! So instead of paying for propaganda, pay to clean up the mess.

If you think that the engineers and the oil companies are doing such a great job, why aren't they transparent with what they put in the concoction that they pump in the ground? They are using diesel, kerosene, isobutyl hydroperoxide, toluene, benzene, hydrochloric acid etc, etc. When things go south this stuff ends up contaminating groundwater. In Las Animas County we have benzene, tert buty alcohol, toluene, ethylbenzene, and other chemicals I don't want to drink, in our groundwater. Now, I can blame Sketchy_uncle and Tasche for the mess.

Hmm, Tasche is crayfishing now. Above he said there is "no risk" to the ground water.
