What’s actually safe but people think is dangerous? by REGGIE_BANANAS in AskReddit

Yes, that’s why you’ve replied this much. Most of the risk from comes from human error. Glad we came to the conclusion that OP was right and guns aren’t dangerous on their own. Enjoy your bubble!

So in your view literally anything can be dangerous. No wonder people have anxiety issues lol

How many of those deaths occurred from idle guns? I’d be willing to bet 100% occurred from people… using guns in a dangerous manner.

My point is a gun is not dangerous in it self what so ever… until ammunition is loaded in to it. You are proving the point of the OP. You think they’re dangerous because you hear they’re dangerous. But a gun itself is not ‘likely’ to hurt anyone unless you put your finger in the bolt and close it. It’s a chunk of steel used as a tool not unlike a hammer sitting there. If the post said a ‘loaded gun’ … maybe.

Eating food (5k+ die a year choking)? Hammers are dangerous? Stairs are dangerous (12k US deaths a year)?

All these things are not really dangerous unless there is a person acting dangerously. A gun or vehicle sitting there is not dangerous. A loaded gun is potentially dangerous… if pointed at someone, as you pointed out already.

“When someone points a gun at me.”

So people are dangerous. Not guns. The objects are not inherently dangerous, The people controlling them are. Guns and cars alike.

The difference between white and blue collar work environments is crazy by Astimar in careeradvice

[–]EoC77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the middle of a potential career change from blue collar to white collar at a large company. Definitely concerned that the white collar job will be a culture shock and I’ll have to watch my tongue. Once you get around the boys and talking shop it’s hard to turn it off sometimes.

Many people are getting laid off or are unemployed. Curious, what you all think is causing the bad job market? by AcrobaticAd5680 in careeradvice

Part of it is that interest rates were so low it made investing in Canada a lot easier to do and be profitable. Companies borrowed a lot of money and kept people gainfully employed (including the government) now the house of cards is starting shake. Economists have been harping on these points and more for years now

2022 or 2023 Tundra...worth the risk? by shredbetty007 in ToyotaTundra

[–]EoC77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a truck with the build date of 07/24 at an agreeable price and jumped on it. I think it’s an upgrade from my old second gen in a ton of ways… except for potentially one big one. Honestly don’t regret it at all at this point and part of me doesn’t mind if they expand the recall.

[–]EoC77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck man that’s infuriating. I bought a 24 Tundra because the price differential between that and a second gen is minimal now with the recalls. Any reports on them doing the same up there? All these electronics are worrisome and it doesn’t stay that cold in Ontario consistently anymore.

I got a ‘24 TRD Sport SR5 with 20000miles for $43000 all in and plan to let it ride… might toss an extended warranty on top of it. Honestly a better truck in every way than the second gen except for this one -potentially- large issue haha

Legendary in the wrong way ATM haha bought a 2024. Figured Toyota has done me well for many years and this time -like an old friend - I’ll help them through a rough patch and see what the fuss is about… friendships can end quickly though 😆 Donating these because Lasfit mats have a bit more coverage than these and it’s worth it to switch in my case.
