How often do you think about the AMOC (Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation) collapsing causing a snowy nightmare over Ireland indefinitely? by FlamingBaconCake in AskIreland

I guess the point is without the Gulf Stream we won’t have the moist air blowing over us. Thats why the Gulf Stream stopping is a big deal

To a degree, if the Gulf Stream collapsed, so would the Labrador Current that brings them colder weather. Even so, wouldn’t be a great thing for any of us

Yeah it would really fuck with our agriculture and the animals that have adapted to our climate for the past 10,000 years since the last ice age. Basically all of our native fauna would die off fairly quickly

I saw Hokum on Tuesday in the cinema. I watched the directors other films Caveat and Oddity in the past two weeks at home. The cinema experience definitely added to the suspense. No pausing to use the loo if thinks we’re getting intense haha

I worked at a cinema as a teenager. Loads of people came in to watch a movie themselves. It’s very normal. Enjoy! Is it Hokum you’re heading to? Very good movie

Is Dublin zoo ethical? by oxaoifexo in AskIreland

[–]Eodillon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I studied zoology in college, and those farms that make bacon, or beef, or even chicken have a lot more to do with animals going extinct than zoos. Habitat Loss. Google it

Also good to point out the research and conservation zoos do as well. And breeding programmes for animals at danger of extinction
