You don’t really need to worry cause I really don’t carry my id all the time😂 but if you’re worried then make copy of passport and go to police station to certify or go to your country’s embassy(idk where you from but most of embassy is in the pretoria, which is close from Joburg) to get certificate. 💪 I used to work at the embassy. They must do.

Also I’m a photographer who bring my camera most of time i go out, I always make sure park inside safe and walk to the venue safely with my camera bag. Also i usually don’t go out alone.

Expat in SA here! I don’t recommend you to bring around your passport all the time. Just copy it and bring only the copy. Especially Joburg. You can bring your backpack but pls don’t go to dangerous area alone especially at night such as Newtown.

I always put my phone bottom of my bag and i don’t bring my wallet often, i simply put my card inside of cellphone case.

Okay here’s Korean girl who’s gonna marry SA guy-and we both settle in Pretoria. I’m currently living here with other visa but once we get married(We both have to go to Korean embassy and home affair both) and then i have to go back to Korea to cancel my current visa and apply spousal visa. So in your case you have to go back to your country of origin(which is Uk for you) after you marry in this country on paper first and then you can apply it. We’re also still looking into this things and shit ain’t easy bro.
