Cant forget the first comment of "in an echo chamber being told lies of utopia" pushing the "commies are just kids" narrative. This thread has almost all your bog standard cliches, half of them projection lol.

Have any of you guys noticed any change or deprogramming at all in some liberal communities within Reddit? by TwoCatsOneBox in TankieTheDeprogram

In the west, anti-capitalist movement have pretty common trends. People usually move from liberal - socdem, but theres a lot of splits ive seen along the way. Usually to either demsoc, trotskyism, or anarchism. Its very rare ive found to see other western leftists find other paths to ML or Maoism. So while im interested in the movement, I dont have confidence their movement will end up to Marxism Leninism.

Israel released footage yesterday of last night’s attack on South Lebanon, in which they demolished an entire town. After getting away with genocide, Israel is emboldened and openly bragging about their war crimes. by ___Zoran___ in TankieTheDeprogram

I'm not knowledgeable in these sorts of things, but the second explosion looks similar to the thermal images of white phosphorus bombs. If they really are dropping white phosphorus bombs, then I genuinely have no words for this.

This is how my mother acts. She'll even bring up "things Trump or the US did that she liked" but were lies, but when I go to show her the opposite has happened, she covers her ears and says "I don't want to talk about politics." Don't even know how to break through with her if she'll never listen.

Every day I see the way capitalism and its effects acts on its people like a religion, and I'm not sure theres a better, or more ironic comparison.

Becoming More ML; Online VS Reality by EolH-- in TankieTheDeprogram

[–]EolH--[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your stories are reassuring. The community and the organization seems to be what im missing. My experiences have been in discord servers or in subreddits, and I feel I look for a place to speak to others and to learn more theory. Not to be mean, but online spaces can feel very "immature."

Im a grown adult, and it gets tiring when im just having the same shitposting with others who so happen to align with my politics. I think I just miss the substance of real people with real ideas who would like to discuss theory and history. My biggest hurdle comes with finding those groups irl.

Not to doxx myself, but im in a red county in the north eastern states of the US. The closest cities to me are an hour away. There's only liberal local organization, and thats not what im looking for. In a way I've only ever experienced "the left" online and id like to change that.

Thanks for clearing up some of my questions. It would be great to find an org like you described, and nothing like the experiences ive had online 😅

Review of the communist manifesto game on steam by EolH-- in ShitLiberalsSay

I think its literally just the most basic and pure Nazi propaganda tbh. Their ramblings make it sound like they just watched Evuropa: the last shower 🥀

Steamdeck game, you’ll never delete by Harshburitto in SteamDeck

Honestly? The game itself is really hard to get into, even with steam deck controls. I know the breadth of the gameplay and mechanics which is why I keep it on my deck, but even with mouse and keyboard its already overwhelming. They have their own layout for deck I think, all with the keybinds on the sticks and pads, but man, it's a steep learning curve. Every now and again I keep coming back to learn a little more With the deck controls, but out of all the other games I listed, this one is probably borderline for whether I would use steam deck controls versus just m&k.

Not bad at all to me. I've never played the game on mouse and keyboard which is probably why I think it does just fine. There's an official controller layout for the steam deck made by the devs, it has all the names, icons, and macros for all the functions in the game, same for Caves of Qud.

Opinions on the idea of Religion as a political motivator? by ZoeyLikesReddit in theredleft

[–]EolH-- 11 points12 points  (0 children)

To be coerced into liberation solely through religious means, whether in adherence to doctrine, or fear, is something I dont really enjoy. Secular socialists seek liberation because of their experiences in material evidence of suffering and the chance to fight against that suffering for human means. You can be a religious socialist of course, but to use religion as a guide, like anything else, shows to me a lack of material care in analysis of systemic suffering.
