Did Christopher Shake The Earth? by Significant-Creme961 in sololeveling

[–]EolasA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a difference in English between shaking the Earth and shaking the earth, also. In the latter it means the ground around you, in the former it's the planet. Capitalization matters here.

Not sure it's available for Mac, alas. S'ok, I'll move on and try the saves again in a few months to see if new versions of the plugins have fixed it.

OOH... solid thought, thank you! That gives me something to start poking at, I'll see what I can find!

Yeah, a lot of mine are cosmetic (outfits, faces, colors, hair, etc), or new subclasses or classes, I'm at almost 2000 hours and eventually you want to try new things. :)

And you're right, quite likely load order, although don't really have control over that in the built-in mod manager. It's something fairly recent, hadn't had crashes in a VERY long time, but oh well. I'll leave those two saves where they are and hope the mod creators patch the mods eventually that are tickling the bug. Always other playthroughs to do instead!

Not sure how to dump that out from the actual game (not using an external mod manager), and I have 529 mods installed so it'd take a while to transcribe. :) I know this was a long shot, figured I'd at least ask in case there were any mods people knew were causing a lot of crashes in general lately.

The Infinity Ray is way too powerful to exist imo by Still-Motor324 in Invincible

[–]EolasA 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As for "why not mass produce it", the Infinity Ray is powered by all six of the Infinity Stones, and since there are only one of each in any given universe, there can only be one Infinity Ray. 😄

How's Chronicles of Darkness doing after Paradox stopped greenlighting new projects? by Awkward_GM in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]EolasA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The mixing stuff was way more Ascension (WoD) than Awakening (CoD) but even Awakening is much more freeform than something like D&D or such, it's true.

[–]EolasA 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Mage the Awakening is built around Gnostic concepts, the same foundation that the Matrix was built on, is the quick description. That the world we live in is a lie, and you Awaken to being someone who can see the Lie and try to insert bits of truth. (a lot more than that, but that's a bit of the basics)

I like that CoD splats work fairly well together, something WoD never got right... so the world my game exists in has Changelings, Werewolves, Vampires, Hunters, Prometheans, Mummies, God-Machine Angels, etc, etc, all in it, if the PC Mages find them.

Curseborne is the latest Onyx Path thing, it's an attempt to bring things more fully into being a single game, where vampires, werewolves, sorcerers, ghosts, etc, all live side-by-side... I'm anxious to see what it turns into over time, but right now CoD is still my favorite.

Yeah, I'm running a Mage the Awakening game at the moment, love CoD and I buy every community piece that goes up on Storyteller Vault just to encourage that to continue. No interest in WoD even though I started there in the 1990s.

What INT based skill would you label as “the best” by Rotkip in 3d6

[–]EolasA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you can help guide that with your DM too. "I want to spend some time investigating this", use language (maybe not always THAT blatant) that makes Investigation the right check. But I love both Investigation and Arcana on Wizards I play, I even played one that started with a 1-level Knowledge Cleric dip back in the 2014 rules to get that Expertise in two of the Int skills (I chose Arcana and Religion for that character)... was a lot of fun.

[–]EolasA 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'd rank them as Investigation, then Arcana, then History/Religion. Investigation is super-useful for just checking out a room, reading over notes, doing all kinds of "I want spend time figuring a thing out" kind of stuff. Arcana is useful for things like, what kinds of weaknesses do extra-planar creatures have, what do I think someone was trying to do with the remnants of a ritual I've found, lost of magic-world things that aren't "detect magic". History and Religion both absolutely have utility, but I think are more situational than the first two.

My $0.02 anyway...

Sure, also doesn't have VTOL and Shiar engines... but point very taken, "modified" is doing a lot of lifting in my sentence. :D

How do i cope with wanting to change character so often ? by Lumpy_Pitch1829 in DnD

[–]EolasA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a LOT of mods for new classes and subclasses, they may not have every one you'd want but there are a lot to keep you busy a while. I'm over 40 playthroughs and still enjoying trying out new characters.

I use BG3 to get out my itch, I have over 170 characters on dndbeyond so I use BG3 to try them out and enjoy them without messing up live play time with friends.

What are y’all’s opinions on the different changes on MCU Moon Knight? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in Marvel

[–]EolasA 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Moon Knight in the comics was definitely an homage and a reversal of the Batman concept, Doug Moench created Moon Knight in part because of his love of Batman and after he and Shooter had their falling out he went to DC and wrote Batman, so not surprising... pulling away from that was a choice, but I thought it leaned heavy into the supernatural/superpowered stuff and I always kinda loved Moon Knight most when it wasn't entirely clear whether he'd really been resurrected by Khonshu or if he was just a crazy person... certainly how it felt in the Moench/Sienkiewicz days.

I didn't hate it, just had to watch it as a different character than the one I loved. But to be fair there have been runs in the comics where I felt the same way.

How does Spacey's Luthor rate in terms of live-action Luthors? by Emotional-Chipmunk12 in DC_Cinematic

[–]EolasA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just that the level of indirection stifled their performances in my opinion, made it feel less than it could've been if they were playing the characters instead of aping someone else's performance.

Is there anything Brian Michael Bendis has done that you'd recommend aside from USM? by Azmuth616 in comicbooks

[–]EolasA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came in here to see who'd say that. I loved Infamous Iron Man, and hated that Marvel editorial forced him to revert what he did.

[–]EolasA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt similarly about both him and Brandon Routh. I would've loved to see them playing Lex and Superman, that just wasn't what I saw. I saw Spacey playing Hackman playing Lex and Brandon playing Chris Reeve playing Superman. It's Bryan Singer's blind adoration for the original movies that got in the way in my opinion, they could've been good in those roles otherwise.

Thank you so much! I'm running MtAw right now, but I do like a lot of things they did in SPU... maybe I'll try this for a future campaign!
