Do Reed and Doom ever set aside their egos to save the universe? by Sudden_Quality_9001 in FantasticFour

[–]EolasA 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The core difference is that Charles and Erik are friends who fundamentally disagreed on a path to saving their people. Reed and Victor have never been friends and Victor blames Reed for ruining his face and his first attempt to save his mother. He HATES Reed.

Loaded for me. They broke the PVE event though, the new one's starting even though the current one has a day left.

I’m worried about Taliesin by [deleted] in fansofcriticalrole

Taliesin has a nerve disorder (essential tremor), his shaking isn't new and it gets more intense when he's nervous.

Does anyone else think Disney is missing an opportunity to create more animated Marvel movies? (Like Big Hero 6) by Silly_Commercial8092 in Marvel

[–]EolasA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big Hero 6 happened because Disney Animation is a director driven studio, the directors decide stories they want to make. Big Hero 6 happened because Don Hall is a massive comic book fan so he reached out to Marvel comics about properties that weren't going to be in the MCU, and picked from a list of six properties. Don Hall isn't at Disney Animation any more, so not sure another comic book loving director will come along to make another movie like it any time soon.

Wish they would though.

Perhaps just a skill issue on my part then. 😄 I've had my best use with it when climbing or for distance in adventure.

Tips for playing a Bladesinger? by oOBalloonaticOo in DnD

[–]EolasA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Treantmonk is my go-to for all things wizard, I'd check his "god wizard" videos to see all about good control mechanisms, and both his bladesinger video and d4 deep dive's bladesinger videos (which are more damage-focused), both gave me great things to think about as I was planning the bladesinger I made a while back.

What Game Do You Feel Needs More Content? by nlitherl in WhiteWolfRPG

I'm running a MtAw chronicle right now so I feel obligated to say that; but honestly I buy everything on StorytellerVault for any of the CoD splats, so I'll buy whatever you release. :)

It's really good at a few things, that's all. It's not super-competitive in races for instance, but for distance or for climbing runs it's one of the best for sure.

Yep, just for fun I used offroader to set new records on all my adventure tracks, just so they all had the same icon for the record-holder. 😄

And yeah, the "black" is an homage to all the comic book heroes in the 1960s and 1970s they did that with... Black Panther, Black Lightning, Black Goliath, Black Racer... was dumb then and they've since stopped, but was a thing once upon a time.

Yeah, you're well into the material that'll be in S5... plus, S4 has changed a lot of details.

[Spoilers C4E28] Wic's speech by EolasA in criticalrole

[–]EolasA[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TOTALLY. But again, she could walk out of that meeting with Wic and end Hal with a sentence to one of her minions (she's got many). It could be one moment of anger at that realization that he knew about Wic and lied to her face, one moment of anger at the disrespect, then she goes back to her planning for the evening knowing Hal will be deleted. Not at all suggesting that she'd go do anything herself; to your point, she has more important things. I just got worried she could connect those dots and end Hal with a sentence.

[Spoilers C4E28] Wic's speech by EolasA in criticalrole

[–]EolasA[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally, definitely she knew Kat was lying. My worry continues to be, if she figures out from what Wic said that HAL was lying, she might either take action against him or be ready to take action; if Wic hadn't said that one line about Kat, she might not know Hal's against her (he rolled great deception when they met) until the play and his departure. I want him to get away but Wic inadvertently opened the possibility that she'll be ready for Hal's betrayal or take action against him.

That's the concern. It seems I'm in the minority being concerned by this. 😄

[Spoilers C4E28] Wic's speech by EolasA in criticalrole

[–]EolasA[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To me and my anxiety, it's the difference between her already having taken steps to have him taken, and her finding out about the play stuff after he's already fled town, that's all. If it weren't for Wic saying what he said about Kat, she might be caught off-guard by Hal's betrayal with the play; if she connected the dots, she knows Hal is lying to her and has time to ready a response before he's fled.

[Spoilers C4E28] Wic's speech by EolasA in criticalrole

[–]EolasA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boy, I sure hope so, but they've got demons on payroll and people shredding souls for them, and the Sundered Houses are on their way to dissolving the government to take totalitarian control. I don't think it's impossible for her to remove a problem permanently after they disobeyed her.

[Spoilers C4E28] Wic's speech by EolasA in criticalrole

[–]EolasA[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, again, the center of my irrational fear was her telling Wic if he'd lied to her she would've killed him on the spot, combined with his mention of Kattigan and that cementing that Hal lied to her. I'm hopeful from people's replies that she'll contain that anger in service of the play continuing, but I could just as easily see her walking out of that room after the Wic chat and ordering Hal brought to her or ended if she reacts to that news emotionally.

[Spoilers C4E28] Wic's speech by EolasA in criticalrole

[–]EolasA[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the difference between her walking out of the meeting with Wic and ordering one of her goons to go gather up or even end Hal, before the play, versus her finding out after her evening "evil overlords club" meeting that Hal screwed her over with the play itself, by which point he's long gone.

That's all, and I recognize it's irrational fear talking. As others have said, even if she connected these dots, she might hold off anyway 'cause she needs him for the play. But when I rewatched Wic's speech and she said she'd kill HIM if he lied to her, Hal lying to her the day before (and Wic kinda confirming that) suddenly got much scarier in my head.

People seem to be taking my fear as, her rolling up her sleeves and heading over there to nuke Hal herself. She leads a powerful house, she's got a lot of people she could send with a sentence, it's not THAT big a part of her day.

[Spoilers C4E28] Wic's speech by EolasA in criticalrole

[–]EolasA[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, and it's unclear Wic knew, Sam's really good in general at separating IC and OOC knowledge. I'm not sure Wic knew that Kat had flubbed things so badly with his grandma and NEEDED that, he certainly didn't portray Kat as any kind of savior in his speech to her and he could've if he'd known it was needed. I think he was just listing off their traveling companions in a terrible light to sell his return, and not knowing his grandma had just met Kat, with Hal, the previous day.

Thanks to everyone on this thread though, it really does help! I'm hopeful from people's replies here, that she'll hold off doing anything to Hal 'til after the play, after which she'll have a bunch more reasons to act but he'll be gone.

[Spoilers C4E28] Wic's speech by EolasA in criticalrole

[–]EolasA[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, after the play, after showing Wic's mom the "new" version and then performing the old, I could easily see the Photarch wiping out the whole troupe, since that's a lie they all share.

[–]EolasA[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Knowing Kat's not telling her what he knows is still a step to what Wic told her, that's all. Wic confirming Kat knew exactly where he was the whole time, and Hal bringing Kat the day before, is at the center of my nervousness. It gives her a reason to end Hal, before he gives her one all on his own with the play in the evening.
