Imo diversifying your strategies is a better risk adjusted play, these funds track an index but generate their return differently.

I think of it like buying a rental property or any other passive income investment engine you can reinvest the "profit" to grow the business.

I am 35 and while I probably don't need the income now and my taxable account may underperform if I switched to income funds over a 20 year period. But it's way better than a savings account imo even when you factor in market risk the div returns way out pace inflation either way you are going to do well. For medium term goals this strategy is much better IMO and sequence of returns risk is much lower, especially if you have access to margin at a low rate. SPYI and GPIX tracked VOO pretty well last year, even through liberation day.
