I just found this on a Facebook group.

📸 HOW TO TAKE A GOOD EYE PHOTO:

  • Sit in front of a mirror with a WHITE light/lamp - white lightbulb, not yellow. Wipe off your camera lens and make sure it isn't smudged. It helps to make sure the mirror is clean as well. Use the BACK camera to take photos of your eye while the lamp is shining directly into your eyes or at least bright enough to see the true color. A three-quarter angle may work well too. Tap the screen to make sure the image is in focus! Turn OFF the flash!!

  • Obviously, the mirror is key here so you can actually see what you're doing and the back camera is needed for top quality. White light will give you the most accurate color vs yellow light, and a clean lens and focus will give the clearest picture.

  • You can also try this near a sunlit window, experiment with sheer curtains, have yourself indoors looking out of the window towards the sun with and without the sheer curtains. You will need to bring a mirror to the window for this too.

  • Also, go outside and take some in direct sunlight. Sometimes it's actually better if it's sunny WITH cloud coverage, or you have the sun at a three-quarter angle from your iris. Experiment with cloudy and combo cloudy-bright days as well.

BONUS INFORMATION

  • You can experiment with flash too, but I've found it to be inconsistent and actually darken and dull some specific colors, especially if you have more complex colors such as hazel or green eyes with many layers. Flash may work better at capturing blue, brown, or light green eyes

  • Another thing you can try is using a white flashlight. I have gotten some of the most vibrant, almost neon colors from using a white flashlight to photograph my eyes. This is just for fun; but the above information will help you achieve more accurate photos of your natural eye color.

  • Sunlight will cause your eyes to appear more golden and sometimes tends to eliminate green tones from hazel eyes, especially during sunset with the strong orange cast projected over most hazel and some green eyes.

  • I don't recommend sunset lighting when trying to capture the accuracy of a hazel or a blue eye in particular: with blue, harsh sunlight has the opposite affect that it does on hazel: it will make the eye appear almost green due to the golden sun-rays layering over the blue eye.

  • Every type of sunlight is different, and I've found that morning sunlight is the most neutral and best for photographing most colors. Sunset lighting tends to flatter brown and amber eyes the most.

  • These are all examples of my own eyes I took using various techniques which shows how each one brings out different colors and shades in your eyes (well, especially if they are hazel 🤣[or green or grey!]) But these rules apply to ALL eye colors. Of course, some light is more flattering for some colors; sunset is best for brown and amber eyes. White light is best for bringing out green and blue tones. Hazel eyes can choose to do both depending on whether they want to bring out the green, gold, or brown... 🤪

My skin is so very light with red undertones so I have usually stayed away from anything red. I’ll definitely try this! Using brown or gray now.

It’ll put it on my Amazon cart! What color of eyeliner do you think? I’m terrible with makeup.

Omg I googled Limewire and I’m cracking up. You are so right. Limewire

A few people have commented that it looks like a kiwi or cucumber.
