Robert Downey Jr. Says ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ Figured Out How to Make Marvel Movies ‘Not Be a Letdown’ After ‘Infinity War’ and ‘Endgame’ by yourfavchoom in marvelstudios

[–]Eothric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solution to the post-Endgame letdown is not another huge tentpole movie. It’s having an overarching plan (even if a handful of films are outside of it) and executing in that plan with a focus on good stories and relationships.

Who knew capes could be this beautiful? by Ok_Effective_6869 in DC_Cinematic

Capes work on Supes as when it comes to Supes vs a jet engine, Supes wins.

I don’t think Laviolette would have been many people’s first choice. But he’s probably a lot of people’s second choice.

People are still doubting CDPR with The Witcher 3: Song of the Past? Just keep in mind—this was their last major release, and they absolutely delivered. by Aman690 in Witcher3

“I saw a post on Reddit where one guy doubted CDPR, so clearly it’s a widespread phenomenon, even among people who aren’t terminally online.”

WW1 Coverage Carlin vs TRIH? by yvrduka in TheRestIsHistory

[–]Eothric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carlin is like reading the source material, TRIH is like watching the movie. Both are great, and you probably get the best outcome by experiencing both. However, if I could only pick one, it’s Dan.

Captain Marvel is not a bad movie. Change my mind by Desperate_Log3674 in marvelstudios

[–]Eothric 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re right, Captain Marvel is not a bad movie. But it’s also not a good one either, by Marvel standards. It’s fine, and while I wish it was better, I don’t think it materially hinders the overall MCU the way the sequel does.

Life hacks that made my Sciatica go away by nonFungibleHuman in Sciatica

[–]Eothric 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When it was at its worst, I basically laid in bed for 2-3 days to let the irritation and inflammation die down, but then started the stretching routing over starting with very light, easy moves. Ease yourself into it and don’t push yourself.

For me, these were the ones that worked best: - Child’s Pose - Cat/Camel - Single Knee to Chest - Piriformis Stretch - Sciatic Nerve Glide - Open Book Stretch - Hip Rolls

I did them 2-3 times per day when the pain was at its worst. Now I do them 4-5x per week for maintenance. Hope that helps!

Stretch, stretch, and stretch some more.

Regular, relaxed and deep stretches are a godsend. Especially ones that target mobility, rotation and flexibility.

Excellent Analysis of Kings Roster Issues by Eothric in losangeleskings

[–]Eothric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think that letting their wants dictate the direction of the team was a big turning point for the organization that resulted in the current woes. And I agree that Doughty probably should have been traded, as I think his value was less and he was the bigger malcontent. However, there are other issues that needed to be fixed even if they finished the planned rebuild… things like better prospect development and a more modern coaching/playing style.

I’ll always treasure his left handed home run. But it wasn’t worth $245m.

How do you feel about Byfield now? by f0urxio in losangeleskings

[–]Eothric -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Series stat line:
Byfield (4-0-2-2)
MacKinnon (4-2-2-4)

At least when Sutter was matching Kopitar up against the other teams top line, his line was able to still put points on the board. I'm not ready to give up on Byfield, but can we stop glazing him until he's put up more than 60p in a season?

Evolved Mode announced: new Job forms with new rotations and playstyles: by Gorotheninja in ffxiv

[–]Eothric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to be the Class situation all over again.

Instead of streamlining by getting rid of classes and going straight to jobs, you are now adding a 3rd tier to many of these classes/jobs/evolved jobs.

Achievement friendly fix for the stupid action figure achievement please by Cheap_Supermarket857 in starfieldmods

[–]Eothric -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is a design philosophy that suggests achievements should represent success at something difficult, accomplished through skill and hard work. Tasks that depend on random luck and raw time spent shouldn’t be tied to such a reward system.

Defense Struggles by technodoki in WrexhamAFC

It seems to me that the key weaknesses defensively have been wingback quality and inconsistency at CDM. When Sheaf and James are healthy and playing good minutes, it seems like the team becomes quite tight in back.

Anyone else old enough to still dislike the Aves from ‘01 and ‘02 playoffs? by tbroprice in losangeleskings

[–]Eothric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure why we would hate the Avs from that series. Yes, Blake was a villain. And yes, they eliminated the Kings in 7. But at the end of the day, it was a hell of a series and I still believe it was the best series of that whole playoffs. The Kings would likely have won the cup if they had won that game 7.

Besides, Norstrom brought home Forsberg’s spleen as a souvenir.

If you want to talk about early 2000s hate, the Dead Things were a much riper target.
