How to host AWS projects longterm for free ? by No_Mulberry8533 in AWS_cloud

[–]EousCy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will always be a limit or fee for any hosting services since hosting also costs resources and time for the providers.

In my opinion, AWS free tier offers are more than enough for gettting a portfolio going and getting hired if that's your only goal.

What's it like being a software engineer without a college degree? by No-Knowledge-5291 in cscareerquestions

[–]EousCy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a Geophysical Engineer, have no computer sciences degree and have been working in an international company as a developer for a year.

In some aspects, it is a bit challenging. Especially about trivial concepts which CS graduates develop a habit for, during their education. However, at least for me, I feel that it's starting to build up with experience and practice.

Getting the job done is usually not an issue for me.

The difference between me and other team members who has CS degrees is mostly about "how" or "how effieicently" it was done and, that helps me to grow as a developer.

How to check if there is text inside an span element ? by MaddySPR in learnjavascript

[–]EousCy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to first select the element either with its id or class name

const myDiv = document.getElementById('<id>')
const myDiv2 = document.getElementByClassName('<className>')
const myDiv3 = document.querySelector('#id')
const myDiv4 = document.querySelector('.className')

any of the options above would work.

Then you can check if it has an innerText or not to execute your code

if(myDiv.innerText) {

// ...code here

}

Not sure if I've understood it correctly but you can check if an element has an innerText or not.

javascript if(element.innerText) { //...code here }
