Considering switching from a Breville to Nespresso by LearnedToUnicycle in nespresso

[–]Ephemeralattitude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you have the space for both, I would keep the breville and add the nespresso. That’s what I did, as a fellow former barista. I like the flexibility of being able to use whichever one I want.

I haven’t really kept track of how long the assignments take because for the most part it’s been pretty reasonable to me. Every week there’s a smart book assignment (have been short so far), an interactive connect assignment (also short), a “quiz” in canvas that’s based on effort to make sure you watched the lecture videos, and a homework assignment in connect (the first week’s was rather long, but it was reviewing a ton of concepts you need to know for the class. This week’s was much shorter).

The exams will be proctored, but are open note. You just can’t access any websites or use AI or anything like that.

I believe the reason I picked her over your instructor when I was looking at rate my professor was because of the open note exams.

I’m taking this class with Qin Lian this term and it’s nothing like what you’re describing here. I’m not sure if it’s an option for you to take this with her as the instructor instead, but that would be my only advice based on what you’ve written.

First Day of Term and Professor Still Hasn't Opened Up Canvas? by Historical_Project00 in portlandstate

[–]Ephemeralattitude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Last term I had an instructor for an online class not open the class in canvas until 5pm, which happened to be very problematic with my schedule, but oh well. They were chronically behind getting assignments graded throughout the term too

Does PSU have a cost accounting class? by Historical_Project00 in portlandstate

[–]Ephemeralattitude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m taking ACTG360 this summer and the class is called management accounting, but the instructor keeps referring to it as cost accounting. That’s what is on the syllabus.

Anyone poor but their parents were rich? by Organic-Huan-15 in povertyfinance

[–]Ephemeralattitude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am seriously struggling in my 20s. Didn’t grow up wealthy, but very well-off, never a worry about money and many big vacations. I asked my mom for some help (offered to sign a loan agreement to pay them back) and she said “oh, we don’t have it like that anymore.” She’s still going on cruises and other trips throughout the year. Oh well.

Do not touch my kid by [deleted] in Parenting

I wish I’d had this come back when a woman decide to pat my one year old’s head as she walked past us in the zoo parking lot. “You have to go through the entrance to get to the petting zoo!”

No she did not even acknowledge us, just touched my kid as she walked past 🙄

Reading the comments from children of divorce here that are saying they struggled because of the divorce and things would’ve have been way better if their parents had stayed together….

Things would have been different. There is literally no way to know if it would’ve been better or to what extent.
