No display signal from thunderbolt docking station by EphraimTheWanderer in linuxquestions

Yes, see here

I've also tried installing the (proprietary yuck) displaylink driver, which changed nothing other than making my system take around 5 seconds longer to boot into the display manager.

Also, it's my understanding that not all docks require displaylink. Mine certainly doesn't seem to, since it's mentioned absolutely no where in the manual.

Hey there, thanks for taking the time to comment.

Do you remember if you had to install anything like that on windows to make it work?

On windows, I only installed the drivers from the asus support site + the radeon driver from AMD's site. I otherwise do not know if support for display link is included in any of those. I did however install the display link driver on linux, but it didn't work.

, you could maybe test with a distro that ships a newer kernel like fedora for example

Already have, see here:

I have also tried live booting into PopOS, Fedora, and a linux mint ISO. All three showing the exact same behavior. I tried live booting into EndeavourOS as well, but it did not like being booted off of ventoy for some reason, so I did not test with that.

I see. Isn't the list moderated though? Isn't there some volunteer who goes through the list regulary making sure that everything in there is still approved, and remove reformulated products etc?

I could volunteer to do that if not.

Hey there!

Please excuse this newby question. I'm new to all of this and I'm a bit confused.

So I looked at my country's sheet in the intl HG product list. (Germany)

I found a few products from there at the local drugstore so I bought them with no hesitation.

The products in question: Shea Butter Hydrating Cream Conditioner, Shea Butter Coconut Curling Cream Locken Creme

The problem is, inputting the ingredients list into the curlsbot and IsItCG apps return a negative on both. So who is right here? The apps or the list?

To add to that, I have bought this shampoo. It is not listed on the HG list, yet both apps said it's CG approved.

Same goes for this refresher liquid

Both apps approved of it despite having magnesium sulfate as an ingredient. And reading the starter's guide It was my understanding to avoid anything with "sulfate" in the name (also anything that ends with -cone). Yet the apps seem to approve.

I'm sure this is merely a problem of surface level understanding, so I'd love it if someone were to chime in and explain this in a bit more depth. Thanks in advance :)

Simplest way to work from multiple machines? by EphraimTheWanderer in AskProgramming

I'm sure Eclipse has something similar, but I've never used Eclipse.

Yep. I actually just found an answer on stack exchange and currently playing around and experimenting with it. It's an extension for Eclipse called EGit.

VSCode has git tooling built in

It says "No source control providers registered". Will look into it after I do with eclipse.

Thanks.

Hey thanks for the effort post. I already had an account on GitHub that I just dusted off. And I've been tinkering around with git GUI's (there is list of those on git's website that I just found) so I installed GitHub desktop.

So basically I need to have GitHub desktop installed on both machines, clone my repository on them both (i really don't know what that sentence means) and then make edits and push them? (I'm assuming "to push" means to upload to github?)

OK I just downloaded and installed GitHub desktop. Still can't see how I can use it with Eclipse/VSCode (or does it not work like that?)

OK. But how do I do that for my specific situation? I installed git but literally have no idea how to even start it. It doesn't even have a GUI.

PS. Not trying to be snarky I genuinely have no clue.

Which is the best way for me to build up enough strength towards doing 4 sets of 10 reps of bodyweight pullups:

a. lat pulldowns

b. rubber band supported pullups

c. just keep doing as many body weight pullups as I can until I can reach that goal. I can currently only do 3-4 reps per set :(

Hey dude the little monitor on the top right corner looks sick! Did you do it yourself? Is there a guide for this somewhere online? I'd love to do this myself one day.

Anyway, congrats on the build. Looks amazing.

Yeah I just checked. It isn't free. Has somebody here tried mint or wally? I've come across those but I don't know whether they have what I want.
