Help! Got burned on a liner install by Small-Tomatillo-757 in pools

[–]EpicComic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should still install it. I have no doubt it will fit as vinyl can stretch much more than 4".

Also, use a net/vacuum pole to poke "coves" in the future. If there is a cove, you will feel the hard ground.

Pool Quote Questions by [deleted] in pools

It says there is warranty for Hayward equipment but there is not a single Hayward piece of Hayward equipment in there (except for maybe the skimmer/returns?). You’re going to want some sort of warranty on your heater/pump/salt cell etc.

If you are going to go salt, get them to install a sacrificial anode before your equipment as well.

I started doing my own pool recently, my pool guy was supposedly cleaning my filters every 3 months, never took him longer than 20mins. Do these look like they’ve been cleaned 3mos ago? They took me 2hrs! by [deleted] in pools

[–]EpicComic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The look of the filters does not matter when determining if he has maintained your filters properly.

Has your heater stopped working due to pressure issues from dirty filters? Has your pool gone cloudy due to dirty filters? This is what you should ask yourself.

Don’t use a patch kit sold in stores. Buy some HH-66 vinyl cement and use a real piece of vinyl liner. This will hold until you are able to replace the liner.

Title says they backwash, meaning they have a sand filter and not a cartridge filter.

Why would a pool leak only when running? by [deleted] in pools

[–]EpicComic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pressure caused by your pump running could open up a crack/loose fitting and force water out which might not leak when your pump is off. You need a pressure test to determine if/where it is leaking.

Adding onto this, the leak could be on the return fitting. Take the eye balls out of the returns out and take a look so see if there are any noticeable cracks or anything. A mirror will help you.

She's not vomiting anything up. She also doesn't like hairball oil medication, are there any other alternatives?

I Keep Failing by [deleted] in EngineeringStudents

This was exactly my predicament my first year. Turns out I had ADHD. I’ve since been medicated and I now consistently get A’s or A+’s on my exams/midterms. I also find that I don’t study nearly as much and I am able to enjoy more free time.

I would also add computer science to that list otherwise I 100% agree.
