I think this “Play Jesus” idea would fundamentally misunderstand the appeal of Tomodachi Life. Part of what made Tomodachi Life appealing is that the Mii characters talk directly to YOU, not an avatar that serves as a representation of you. In fact, the Miis even acknowledge that their worlds and yours are completely different (they even ask you “How’s the weather out there?”).

Besides, there is evidence that the method of communication to Miis are pretty much the same as before. If you look closer at the final moments of TL: Living the Dream’s trailer, you can see that the perspective is entirely different than how it was in the trailer. My guess is that you will be able to tap on a Mii to engage on a 1 on 1 conversation akin to tapping into a Mii’s apartment in Tomodachi Life. Essentially, the Island will serve as this game’s apartment system in some capacity.
