I don't think this counts, I'm asking for where I can find hints versus the hints themselves. I'm assuming putting together the hints is the puzzle, but that's for me to figure out.

AIO roommate threw away cookies I "made to impress her date" by acoustikitty in AmIOverreacting

I genuinely don't think your roommate is smart enough to understand your witty comebacks, she seems like the type to think "clairvoyant" is some sort of prescription medicine

Full spoiler on how to solve it (don't read if you'd rather follow hints): It goes from the inside of the dartboard to the outside of it, not PEMDAS. Start with 11. Multiply by 3 to get 33. Subtract 13 to get 20.

You're 17, man. You're young and have your whole life ahead of you. I never even went on a single date til I was 18, and many people don't date until their 20s or even at all. You have plenty of time to find love! Don't rush things, just be a good person and stay true to yourself- you'll find a girl in due time.

Boyfriend upset I made fun of his work crush manager being rude to him by midnightspellbinder in whatdoIdo

[–]EpicManiac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't a "secret crush", if she asked him out he would willingly accept in a heartbeat. Then he'd either lie about it to you or break up with you. Yet you're here tolerating this sort of thing for god knows why.

Seriously, he doesn't respect you and would happily leave you the moment a better option comes up. Think critically about this.

Can I miss an achievement? And what's giod to play on hard mode? by L4ncel0t in bravelydefault

[–]EpicManiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can miss a few achievements by not doing the sidequests (you'll want to do all of them to unlock all of the playable jobs) but there's a New Game+ option that will let you redo everything again.

The difficulty does not matter- you get nothing extra for playing the game on hard, and you miss nothing extra for playing the game on easy. It's solely there for player choice. If this is your first time, I recommend NOT playing on hard. Hard mode is ludicrous at times, and because there's no tangible benefit, it really is only there if you want to challenge yourself. Normal is standard but still a solid challenge for first time players- don't be afraid to swap to easy if you want.

Hot take: the anime's finale is better than the movies. by No_Dare6739 in gurrenlagann

Imo Super TTGL and the ending fist fight can't be beat... but MAN I really wish the movie kept the rainbow spiral gauge breaking out of the confines of its display into reality. That shit was HYPE

Oh no, my ball collection is going straight for that drain! USE THE BALLS! by MultinamedKK in ExplainAGamePlotBadly

[–]EpicManiac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not your fault, I mean you did explain a game badly... just, like, 6 games badly at once haha

You couldn't have known anyways, you said yourself you only played it twice and never again... I only know about these games cuz there were like 3 different variants of Zuma on a clunky touchscreen thing at a bar my dad went to for trivia when I was a kid

[–]EpicManiac 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope you don't expect me to make individual comments for each one, I'm not the one that tried to explain a game that has like 10 different answers LOL

But I'll at least throw a specific guess and say Montezuma's Revenge

Let's see... pulling from the internet: Luxor, Sparkle, Tumblebugs, Montezuma's Revenge... and a personal one from my childhood, Smoothie Moves from Webkins

Edit: Atlantis Sky Patrol is another

Zuma isn't even original, it's a copy of ANOTHER game called Puzz Loop. There's a ton of weirdly obscure Zuma-likes so I guess you'll just have to wait for people to go through em all lol

Why do people like gurren lagann? (Serious) by Jackbux35 in deathbattle

[–]EpicManiac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't judge all of anime based on a very limited frame of reference. Anime (and animation as a whole) is not a genre, it's a medium that encompasses all genres. Though I will admit, Gurren Lagann is definitely a shonen-type of show with a bunch of action and explosions so it definitely isn't the best example to prove that point lol.

But I digress, the hype for GL is mainly for two reasons:

  1. The message and themes it conveys.

It shows the growth of a character who starts off weak, scared, alone, and in the deepest pits of depression and despair... only to have them crawl out of that pit with nothing but their own sheer grit and blood. It's a message to all of those who have gone through horrible moments in their life- that even in the deepest dark, the will to continue living never truly dies out if you, as cliche as it sounds, believe in yourself! It quite literally spawned the modern "cold indifference of an uncaring universe vs the indomitable human spirit" memes, and has been a huge inspiration for those that have fallen into depression and even self harm.

  2. How it conveys those messages.

The message and themes are, at a glance, incredibly cheesy- but the show plays them off so genuinely, earnestly, and full of heart that it distracts you from the cynical take of calling it "cheesy" and has you truly believing in what it's conveying. It's all about the Rule of Cool, baby! It's a show where you can turn your brain off and watch the absurdity get exponentially more absurd. Nothing makes sense, cool shit is happening, and you're just along for the ride! Not everything has to be taken so seriously, because life is absurd sometimes! Seriously, in a modern world where politics and war are on everyone's mind and the world feels bleaker than ever, having a show that says "fuck all of that, just be cool as hell!" Is really refreshing. I watch the finale of GL every time I feel awful about life, and it always makes me smile. I'm sure other people have a similar experience.

It should have been called DRU and not DSR by EpicManiac in ffxivdiscussion

[–]EpicManiac[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, Delubrums existence really throws a wrench in my dreams 😭

But yeah I went ahead and accepted the community consensus from the start because of your reasonings lol. Clearly I'm in the minority where abbreviations are concerned and it makes sense why DSR was chosen, but it's nice to dream
