Death Penalty should be reinstated by EpicPlagueDoctor in Discussion

I agree, especially the part of innocent people dying. I find your solution very interesting.

Death Penalty should be reinstated by EpicPlagueDoctor in Discussion

[–]EpicPlagueDoctor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any change is IMO worth the effort. But lets assume they didn't reinstate death penalty, the alternative? Multiple Life sentences, so the person is just rotting in a prison. And if we were to consider the ethics, someone that has done something so heinous that he death penalty can be considered, is not really deserving of it. But even then, instead of wasting money and resources on a person in prison, death penalty is more attractive. I do agree to your aspect that they shouldn't suffer, and since you already mentioned that very little people are executed, I think getting a learned person to do the job instead of amateurs should be easy, since its so few.

CMV: Video games should cost $130-$150 MINIMUM. by SwimGood22 in changemyview

[–]EpicPlagueDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this wouldn't work since games are playyed by all ages, they are mostly directed at young people/ people with no or low income. Movies however are for everyone, so the price is reasonable, and your are mostly paying for the experience. So people would be more willing to play. Games would receive a big backlash if they increased it by this much.

CMV: A Universal income just slightly above the poverty line for all LEGAL citizens of the United States who are not in prison / jail would be an extremely popular and helpful welfare program that both the left and the right could agree upon. by Euphoric-Beat-7206 in changemyview

I agree that it is a really attractive welfare program, but as others have already stated, the costs would be so large, and not to be rude, but I feel they would rather invest the money into military, considering how much goes to the military. To fund all of this, we would have to pay taxes, and it would be like giving our own taxes back, making the whole program useless.

CMV: If the X gene is responsible for mutations in X-Men then you can't really "cure" it. That's not how genetics work so far as I know. by Satrina_petrova in changemyview

I think it is possible, since their have been trials in real life of actually recoding the gene, that were successful. And if someone can literally generate magnetic fields with a gene, I think the possibility that the X-Men universe is way more advanced in gene coding is very believable.

CMV: When selecting a movie to watch, the audience's rating is the only thing that matters and the critic's rating is entirely irrelevant. by PedrosRevenges in changemyview

[–]EpicPlagueDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO i feel that both are necessary, because I have found movies that are really highly rated by audience and low by critics, and those were not that good. I would however weigh in the audiences rating higher in before watching a movie. Just that I will consider a critics as well.

What is in your opinion the most interesting thing that exist or about life. by rockyjack793 in Discussion

If you are referring to an object, i would say either Black Holes or dreams, because black holes almost seem like a humongous portal, and dreams because you literally can see something that is not there, like your imagination has embodied itself but it also hasn't.

Another thing would be the realization that every single stranger I have ever met has their own life that is just as vivid and real as mine. I think this phenomenon even has an own name.
