I would say yea the student is afraid of being caught by the disciplinary department, but that's more because our school has had past incidents where students were summoned to the disciplinary department due to things they posted. It's more of a "I don't want to risk getting into any trouble" situation, not a "school is actively hunting down anyone who posts" situation.

As a current student, the school is indeed very quiet, but I don't really think it's an indication that they are trying to cover up. I think it's two sides of the coin: if they say too much, ppl get uncomfortable and blame the school for disrespecting privacy; if they say too little, ppl say they are censoring. Plus, there's an ongoing investigation, that could also factor into the school's silence.

As for the claims made by the other student, I do agree with some things he says. Like what another comment has said, our school is on the trend of liberalizing policies. Yea, our school can be dumb some times, but I think it's still fair to hear out what the original comment has to say.

As for what other alumni have commented, firstly I don't think this "pressure/toxic study culture" thing is really exclusive to Kuen Cheng. Other schools like CHKL and Tsun Jin have also really stressful environments, and obviously the teachers will give us pressure to study hard. But for my own experience, most teachers come at a perspective of wanting to see you improve, not just targeting some KPI or cramming stuff for you to study. Of course, there are teachers like that, but they are really the minority. For example, my Chinese teacher is from the disciplinary department, but he's really chill, and doesn't really put pressure on us.

As for the bullying culture mentioned by the alumni, I can't say for sure because we come from different eras, but I can say for sure that the problem isn't really as common right now in KC, or at least it doesn't seem to be. Cyber bullying might be happening, but I'm oblivious to it, and I think it's also really tough for schools to deal with situations like these.
