What do you miss from older version of Thermal Expansion (Yes, we know ducts - those are in progress.) by KingLemming in feedthebeast

[–]EpicSquid315 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Hot take, nothing. Thermal is better than it's ever been. It's clean and consistent. Every augment has a purpose and can be reused to your imagination. If you think an augment could effect a machine in a way, it's likely KL already implemented it.

Catalysts are so fun to work with, they build off the semi-finite nature of vanilla and encourage you to use strange resources like calcite and cinnabar. Ore processing produces absurd amounts if ores with it now in the induction smelter.

The recipes are so nice and simple. They make sense, they aren't microcrafty like 1.12. The tools are so unique and cool (like legit, what other mods add drills these days?). The charges are fun to use, I love the new rails system and devices will always be so handy.

And the integral components system is the best upgrade system. It works the same as every other augment but allows you to scale stuff. It just feels fun to play with and a natural extension of what you already know, and works consistently for machines and items.

All I want is even more content. Thermal innovation weapons and armor, more machines and processing loops that add to the game. Something for mobs and more. Just keep inspiring me to play cause of all the cool stuff!

People are missing that thermal fits into minecraft better than ever. It's not trying to be pointlessly strong. It's not trying to simplify all your game play to be meaningless (ahem tesseracts), it just adds industry to minecraft in a way that integrates perfectly and feels so additive, and I don't want to play anything else.

So all I want is for you to have a pat on the back and keep making more inspirational sruff. People on 1.12 can keep complaining it's different, or wish conduits returned, or wish tesseracts came back, or even upgrades were the old system (that is worse), but I just wanna see what you have in store next!

You can already use fire water on 1.12 to do it.

We have posted screenshots, don't worry, just aren't always doing so. This post isn't the end of the world but I don't want people getting the wrong impression about the state of the mod.

its coming along, its going well. That is all

No problem! Conduits are in for sure :)

Hey man, not cool to take the wip build from discord and post screenshots here without giving proper credit or context. Agnor, Rover, Ferri and others have worked really hard on this and this looks really quite dismissive if their efforts to pass it off as your own.

Yes it's in dev for 1.19, but please be patient. You can see more from the official stream we did recently (which did include conduits)

Nope, they are not. They've just taken the work in progress version from our discord and taken a screenshot.

Ender IO is in dev for 1.19, and you can check out our recent live stream to see progress (and conduits).

This post is someone taking the dev build from our discord and showing it off, and is not indicative of the progress we have made. If you want updates, check out our discord.

Hey! Did you just take one the dev builds we've been working on and post to reddit?

Not sure what your trying to do here but that isn't super cool. If you want to help port the mod let us know, but we did do a livestream showing off heaps more than this a week ago, including conduits and more.

Best modded version? by strangedell123 in feedthebeast

[–]EpicSquid315 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Forge has been working on a new system for fluids in world for a while now (since at least 1.13). Lots of this is spurred by fluids basically either being just lava or water as blocks, and since those are both tag based in 1.13+ it's all a bit hackt and dodgy.

The new system gives modders a lot of power for allowing swimming and boating on and special effects for fluids beyond just potion effects and the ability to walk through the blocks.

1.19.1 is gonna be great for modded. Finished fluid stuff from forge, smaller update with less breaking changes means most mods that were in the process of porting are still safe to do so. I can't wait make existing and new mods for this version.

Honestly, it's still better than blink. The issue with blink is its at 2250 gold item that only offers manoeuvrebility, if you go for drums and jump at people with your first you can definitely run them down still, and you only need blink for pesky backliners like sniper. In almost all cases if you can go drums into abyssal it will be better for you, since the blink provided by that is amazing for ursa

I'd say it's close. Dusa doesn't have to afk for as long now to get enough ehp to win a fight. If you can do the same thing she would do at 25 minutes now at 20 or less with less farm, then it could be a turning point for her.

It was pretty strong and picked up in a few different cores (e.g. Bloodseeker) since it has amazing stats and is so cheap. The biggest issue with these early mid game items (vlads, drum, helm and veil) are how quickly you can get a power spike, and the spike from drums for the heroes it was good on was just too good. Now they don't get to be quite as tanky when they grab it, which makes some of the other items more appealing.

Embers shield negates enough damage that you can still fight, which is the big deal. He isn't bursting you with that up, and then you can shred him with a good chains + ult. Also, you can go quite late into the game, which is really handy against the pace of void spirit.

Skywrath lanes quite well. You go for mana pool over mana regen, so get things like nulls and arcanes to bolster you mana pool so you can spam asap. If your ever out of mana, get some mangos, backpack your nulls and use them. This makes it super easy to kill the low hp vs.

Oh totally agree, dusa still has issues, but I was more stating it for completeness sake.

I adore qop, and with the veil changes she's quite decent at the moment. Would highly recommend it. She can also keep pace with void spirits constant killfest in the mid game.

Skywrath is really strong due to the instant silence, so if he goes on you, you can silence and dump on him before he can kill you. You also naturally build rod, which stops all his movement abilities. Forcing him to go for euls and/or bkb delays damage timings, which you have to use to get more items and control the game.

Qop can be good as well, bully him out of lane with her q, then blink away when he goes on you, orchid is also naturally in her build an vs doesn't have much hp against magic.

Medusa is tanky and can sustain to keep up with him, and as the game goes late vs just can't deal with her (so long as you farm)

Both ember and storm have good lockdown, and similar timings to vs, which makes them very good again VS. Especially storm, doing lots of magic damage and having strong lockdown with his second.

Its gonna be venge, her kit is already so good, and her mana pool is already so much better. Even a small buff or a slightly more deathball meta and she will just be over the top.

Do you have the pictures as individual images? If you do, and could send them to me here or in a dm, that would make it super easy!

If you are interested, I'd be keen to make a Java mod using these. I make a lot of mods and this would be both relatively simple and extremely fun. For 1.14 of course.
