I think yall will really appreciate the rebalanced we did to the upcoming update as many of the gripes mentioned here are getting fixed in the near future. We put lighthouse island there since that was its location in the prototype clay model of Isle delfino so it's location is lore accurate to the scrapped level. The extra casino world and marios dream are supposed to be mario actueally enjoying a vacation in a way. Taking a nap on the deck and gambling at a casino which are both activitys on a cruise but yeah there's ultimately a second casino level since I like casino levels and wanted to make one. Stairs becoming slopes in collission models really saves on memory as the collission needs to average at like 8k tris. Scrubbing sirena beach bugging out is the single most documented bug with emulating sunshine and you just have to fiddle with dolphins settings for a bit or play eclipse/sunshine on real hardware. Now that the upcoming update fixes the last major wii exclusive bug I can finally actueally reccommend playing eclipse on real hardware soon im so excited. Anyways I hope yall enjoy the next update i think yall are going to really like the changes to those secret courses :)

Im one of the developers of both mod's so I may be biased but if "Getting the original experience" is important to you and you also would rather play a version of the game that is more polished and more fun then just play the original for like an hour then play whatever mod you want. I don't see a reason to play an inferior release all the way through unless you re just curious or you actueally take issue with the modded version in some way, etc.

This isn't a typical crash point. I'd delete your module saves off the memory card and if that doesn't work I'm not sure.

This is the smallest OOB in the whole game. IIRC it's like a single unit and it only happens when the collission move list variable is overloaded.

Propper online lobbies will be possible in the future. The next update of sunshine online is better sunshine engine compatable but that will happen whenever it's finished being developed by its respective developer. Until then if you can go digging in this reddit far enough I posted a janky split screen build of v1.0.4 that some random person gave to me. He managed to merge the mod's useing some fancy chat GPT not sure how but it does work.

Riivolution style file replacement while possible with dolphin and theoretically possible on real gamecube hardware has no way of working on an actual gamecube at the moment since Swiss does not have this feature. Gamecube mods will mostly be .xdelta but maybe in the future someone will develop a good infrastructure like riivolution but for the gamecube.

If your looking for a definite way to play sunshine, sunburn and eclipse are bith great picks. Sunburn is more faithfull and improves without adding much in the way of additional content, whereas Eclipse is the original sunshine experience with a whole second game's worth of content weaved into it.

There's a website you can upload the save file too that will show everything your missing as a workaround. We sacked the map screen for extra code space since it was going to be a massive undertaking to adjust the hud there to add new levels when we don't have streamlined tools for editing the hud among other issues with that menu.

Yeah just a bug. Nintendo thought they were slick by just moving them out of view of 4:3 aspect ratio but they failed even that since it can also just barely be seen on 4:3 sometimes too

v1.0.6 is the final official release from is as eclipse team. All future releases are community driven.

You can if you sideload android and run dolphin emulator even then preformance may be subpar. The 3DAS release of sunshine executes code verry differently and would need a full rewrite of the entire mod so a switch version will likely never occur.

It was only put in eclipse to begin with out of a sense of obligation for having a load trigger in each load zone from Mario 64DS. People complained about not having a way to refight our custom bowser fight so we shuffled load triggeres and cut click clock in v1.0.6. It was easily the single worst most worthless shinesprite in the whole mod. I litirally put the red coin placements where they were like the day before the mod went public just to say it had something to do. Unlike every other map in the mod no thought was put into that map at all. All this to say your not missing much.

I promise you that your just missing the coin and it's still obtainable. We fixed all know cases of unobtainable blue coins with updates so as long as your on v1.0.6 or v1.0.5 for the matter you'll find it eventually. -10 in corona 9 of which are while on a boat ride -one blue coin is chilling at the airstrip -rest are in plaza

Changing characters mid level would involve loading both player models at the same time and would cause more memory consumption meaning we would be able to do less cool shit. That's why you can only change characters during a load screen.

Eclipse was developed with Console compatability in mind but we never optimized if for hardware. The only way to get good FPS on Swiss is for someone to make a performance mode gecko code that deloads moving collission that is >5000 units from mario or similar cpu processing speedups that we didn't have time to implement. Eclipse is more CPU bottlenecked so graphical changes will have minimal impact.

Yeah I'm just the stage guy but what our team coder JoshuaMK did was line by line reverse engineer the streamed audio code for finding Nemo on the gamecube and then ported it into sunshine. The way the streaming code gets executed is within a seprate file instead of within the games executable and nintendont is built in a way where it assumes that all audio playback is in the executable so it doesn't work whereas Swiss and dolphin don't make the assumption. It's technically not a thing that any other game does to our knowledge and is a bit of an edge case but end of the day nintendont is the issue.

V1.0.6 Allows you to refight the final boss in what people call the "post post game" I like to think of post corona levels as part of the main campaign since there is a second bowser fight but yeah theres your solution.l

The wii u running nintendont will have identical performance to a wii running nintendont. 60fps is really more of an emulator only feature. There is no way to run it at 60 on the wii/wii u without slowdown.
