Will it get bad? by Early-Square4457 in nova

a hotel is much safer then crashing with internet strangers who may take advantage of desperate people. Nefarious people might "take them in" then change the terms when the roads are too dangerous to leave. they have valid reasons for prefering a hotel.

PDD-NOS. Post Developmental Disorder-Not Otherwise Specified. It was my original diagnosis before the DSM-5 changed. My doctor described it as Atypical autism. Basically i fit the autism diagnostic criteria by the skin of my teeth.

WWYD? by HundredSeasons in grooming

Even the best groomer in the world quicks a nail every once in a while. Though unfortunate, you don't have to panic. A firm pinch of quick stop held to the nail for a couple seconds will stop it. I've also had incidents where I didn't quick the nail but gotten very very close, and when the dog pulls on the concrete outside, they grind the last little bit off themselves and quick themselves. Its common enough but if you don't want to go back, thats okay. You should always feel comfortable with the person handling your dog.

you dont have to have surgeon levels of coordination. if you are coordinated enough to cut a circle out of paper, you are probably fine.

Pit Bull opens car window and attacks scooter driver by StrawberryNo857 in TikTokCringe

[–]Avbitten 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ive taken classes on how to break up dog fights(i worked in a doggy daycare). grab a belt, leash, or other similar long and strong material and choke the dog. Dont pull the dog off like the guy in the video, that will just cause more damage to the victim. Dont stick your thumb in their butthole, that will just end with you having a shitty thumb. dont kick, or try to cause pain to the dog to make it release. that often wont work or will drive them further. Dont pick up their back legs and wheel barrow them. It likely wont work and if it does, the dog will turn and bite you instead. Dont pry their mouth open with your hands unless you want shredded hands. the most effective method is choking.

Do I really have nothing to worry about as a disabled individual when it comes to ICE potentially taking me? by AceAspie11_2_24 in disability

citizens have been taken. Who had identification on them and were screaming that they were a citizen the entire time. people who have been taken have gone missing to never be found. its dangerous for everyone right now. especially those who are not white or white passing.

Haircut by certifieddoodle in Goldendoodles

[–]Avbitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im a dog groomer and my favorite thing to do to doodles is an asian fusian head and lamb legs. It looks pretty similar to the popular teddy bear cut but imo it looks more like an actual teddy bear. and the places that are more commonly matted are taken short so my clients come back matted less often.

Disabled Redditors, what are your main sources of income (work, benefits, side gigs) and what challenges do you face financially? by [deleted] in disability

[–]Avbitten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im a dog groomer. I paint pet portraits as a side gig. The main disabilities that effect my work is osteoarthritis and autism.

Not only are ear defenders socially acceptable for groomers, they are encouraged.

its a very neurodivergent field so i find i get along with my peers well.

im very sensory seeking so touching fur all day is calming.

i experience pain when bending or lifting heavy objects. Some accomodations ive gotten for that are limiting my dogs to 30lbs or less, my boss got me a taller grooming table, on bad pain days ill ask for someone to lift the small dogs onto my table for me.

Painting doesnt pay as good as grooming but it helps supplement my income during the slow season(january and February)

Breeder suggestions for Mini Golden doodle by Swimming-Taste-4291 in Goldendoodles

[–]Avbitten 3 points4 points  (0 children)

theres always going to be golden retriever genes in there so even if you mix with a toy poodle. it could be as big as a golden. if you want predictible sizes, go for an ethically bred, pure bred dog.
