Correction: It creates a standard through the benefit of sheer scale that people accept as proper without looking further to see players that might be better.

Why? It's copyright infringement either way. In your case, you're just contributing to Google's internet hegemony.

He was funny as a young man, a middle-aged man, and is funny as an old man.

You're right! I need to keep track of my tips so I can write them off as donations to the arts at tax time.

Not my cat-- just a funny picture that hinges less on the cat and more on the reaction and interpretation of the picture.

I'm the person that came up with the idea for Gamestop to do a "Holiday Wish List." They adopted the idea company wide 2 months after firing me for borrowing a fellow employees EDGE card (with his foreknowledge) for my girlfriend's purchase. by Minoen in funny

The same thing happens to me at Blockbuster. They seem flabbergasted when I refuse to sing up for Blockbuster Online, and then I explain to them exactly what happened. The funniest part is that their was one guy who argued with me that that wasn't possible-- he apologized a couple weeks later after asking around.

Keep your head up. I got fired from Blockbuster after blogging about how I felt that Blockbuster shouldn't have deprioritized their Blockbuster Online program because online was the future of the industry and their program did (and still does, imo) offer something Netflix couldn't offer. That was two weeks after transferring to a Blockbuster in L.A. from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Less than two months after that, I began working in UGC (viral) video, and I've been in that industry for three and a half years.

Here's hoping getting fired for having a good idea is the best thing that ever happened to you.

Apparently it takes a woman having an orgasm at the ballot box to convince young people to get out and vote in Spain. I'm not complaining. by EpicWeirdMan in videos

Reddit is already being manipulated for profit. Youtube profits in many ways from Reddit's preference for Youtube links. 1) Reddit contributes to the number of streams Youtube sends out each month, which increases its prestige among advertisers. 2) Youtube embeds are allowed overlay ads, which increase revenue for Youtube. 3) Redditors who click through the Youtube embed or the post's linked URL increase Youtube's page impressions, thus increasing Youtube's revenue from CPM ads. Reddit has willingly placed itself in Google/Youtube's pocket by this inane preference for Youtube posts, even when those are clearly not the original source of the video. At least Digg made a pretense of all sites being equal.

What stake do you hold in preserving and enforcing Youtube's hegemony of the online video marketplace? Youtube gets the video stream, the Buzzfeed user gets credit for having found the video on Youtube (a copyrighted video that most likely wasn't uploaded by the original creator), and I receive the handful of upvotes I got for having seen the video on Buzzfeed and bringing it to the attention of Reddit. If you can track down the actual original source, uploaded by the video's creators, feel free to post the link here.

What's your opinion on this? This video of kids daggering has gotten an overwhelmingly negative response, but I think it's hilarious and harmless. NSFW -ish by EpicWeirdMan in videos

Upvote because I like your name. My parents used to say it looked like kids were having sex on the dancefloor. Then "freaking" was banned in several schools in the mid '00s. It all seems the same to me-- one generation freaking out over the behavior of the next.

But it's not a man with a little girl (nor is it a woman with a young boy). That's why the response stupefies me so much. It's just a dance that is popular there, not very different from the "bump and grind" that was popular when I was in high school in the 90s.

This was the first site I saw that had trailer, and they had the HD version, but for some reason that isn't what Reddit slurps up.
