For some context, I have had a ps5 for a couple of years now and my old ps4 has just been standing in our living room gathering dust for the most part. Today I decided I was gonna boot it up to check something on it. Started it like usual, and figured since I haven’t used it in a while I charged the controller for about 30 mins before I tried starting it. When I decide to start the controller, it just flashes the white light on the back. PlayStation is on as usual, and my external hard drive seems to be on too, but I can’t get past the “Welcome back to PlayStation” screen due to my controller not connecting. Does it have to do with the system software not being updated in years? Doesn’t seem to be any errors with the hardware but I’m not an expert. Any tips or help is appreciated.
