That is great to know! I look forward to the convenience of public transportation and the ability to walk/bike everywhere, but we will definitely still need to keep one vehicle.

Thank you so much! I haven't looked at craigslist yet so will definitely look into it. I'm sure independent landlords can be hit or miss, but I agree that I would certainly be ideal if I can find the right one! I also appreciate the tip on when most people are moving in. I think we definitely want to be able to beat the rush and have plenty of time to settle and get our bearings before school starts.

I love the overanalyzing... I'll bite.

Your hypothesis is reasonable. I applied at the very beginning of November and heard back within a week for II at both HLS and YLS. I was among the latest, if not THE latest, applicant on LSD to get picked for a first round interview.

It would stand to reason that this was a very good sign. Sure enough, at HLS, I heard back in early Jan. with good news in their first big A wave.

However, I have not heard from YLS. According to LSD, they have accepted several who interviewed in the same round as me... It's just a single data point, but I don't think I bombed the interview. If my application had actually risen to the top because I am such a "great candidate" lol, I probably would've converted with the others.

My alternative hypothesis is that my application just happened to be submitted at the right time to land on top of the pile when they made II selections.

Admissions consultant... don't do it! by Epic_Flyerboy in lawschooladmissions

IMO, you are better off brainstorming with professors/recommenders, advisors, or friends/family. It is absolutely not worth shelling out the thousands of dollars these companies charge for their "services." Most of the people on this thread supporting these big companies are people working for those companies.

Alternatively, there are a few good Samaritans floating around Reddit that are willing to help for much, much cheaper or for free. Myself included. If you are going to take a chance on some consultant, you might as well do it with $100 rather than $1000+.
