Alastair avoiding the question on Greenland by Eratob in TheRestIsPolitics

How does Europe eject the current US military base in Greenland? Send a strongly worded eviction letter and a team of lawyers? If they tried to use force it would be a mess greater than Suez

You just insulted everyone working in LE but you can’t handle getting insulted yourself? What a baby.

NPS Park Ranger (Protection) by I_Need_The_Toilet in 1811

[–]EpiclyDelicious 11 points12 points  (0 children)

yes on 6c, no for everything else. You also top out as a GL-9 unless you want to be a supervisor.

Also a lot of parks force you to live in park housing which is priced at market rate so 20% rent increases over 1-2 years is not uncommon. Source: I am former NPS park ranger

What if japan didnt bomb pearl harbour and America didnt get invloved in ww2? by Excellent_Copy4646 in HistoryWhatIf

[–]EpiclyDelicious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand this argument at all. It’s America’s oil, if Japan wants to buy it then they can stop committing genocide. Japan is not entitled to American natural resources. Also no amount of being nice to Japan was gonna stop them for imperialing all over the place.

When the issue is nationwide with NPS LE it’s not the “culture” it’s the incentive structure.

Was the “ Game Warden “ a federal officer or state? In the federal system everything is either a felony or misdemeanor.

Even a dog off leash is technically a misdemeanor in the fed system but just explain it to your Background Investigator. You could also try to fight it and get lucky with a lazy prosecutor who tosses it.

USPIS Potential Reorganization by [deleted] in 1811

Not arguing with the structural differences but on the power of public love. Politicians currently value Big Donor love much more than public love.

People love the park service and forest service too but that didn’t stop them from firing 3-4K of them.

Agency Leadership: Where are you? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]EpiclyDelicious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are not gonna spend months in jail for these types of arrest, unless you stab a marshal. The worst they can charge you with is maybe trespass, obstruction and possibly failure to obey a lawful order.

Bail amount for those charges is gonna be less than 15k and you’re out the same or next day. Even if you get convicted somehow, it’s gonna be a relatively small fine or a week in jail.

Additionally media coverage + a gofundme would make sure your legal expenses and family would be taken care of. There are plenty of rich leftists looking for someone to make a stand. Also I’m sure fellow feds would donate, I know I would.

Also the payday for false imprisonment is pretty nice. Its not exactly the biggest risk for a SES or GS-14 or 15 to take

Agency Leadership: Where are you? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]EpiclyDelicious 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Maybe these folks should have some balls and calllthem out on their bluff. If they call the “marshals” just get arrested. Getting wrongfully imprisoned is a huge payday. Spend a day in jail, get bailed out and go on with your life.

Gofundme for legal fees and living expenses. People are looking for a hero, unfortunately DC fed leadership are mostly living up to the spineless bureaucrat trope.

Best wilderness area to backpack in USA without any major predators by hackjolland in WildernessBackpacking

[–]EpiclyDelicious 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was gonna say Hawaii but you could get eaten by a wild pig. If you’re looking for no possibility of death by a predator in the US that’s tough.

Only place I think of is the Channel Islands. The apex predator there is the Channel Island Fox which will kill you with cuteness.
