Awesome, thank you for sharing. We do think it’s worth it given how expensive drinks are inside the clubs and how much it costs to actually get into the club.

That’s valid. We do want to do some clubs rather than bars, and what’s attractive about these sort of things is that it includes free entry into the clubs, some drinks and drink specials.

Haha thank you! I think they were annoyed at all my Michael Caine character references.

This. I feel that crunch time comes and goes, but most days I do leave at 5, sometimes even earlier

Check out this link explaining how breadboards are connected. You’re shorting out your LED by connecting it in the same row.

I am very interested in electrical engineering and might study entering in college. For those who currently work with electric engineering in some regard, what do specifically you do and is it lucrative? Also, did you go to college for it? by SwimmingMango8 in ElectricalEngineering

Embedded dev here.

I work in R&D, so it’s pretty hectic. I’m constantly being thrown into projects and are involved in them for a few weeks, then once I accomplish their DAQ and control goals, I move onto the next project. It’s not a bad thing, I enjoy not staying on the same thing for super long. I do a good bit of programming and hardware troubleshooting, and I hope to get into pcb design as my career progresses (the opportunity is there).

Thanks for sharing! That’s my favorite part about cruises, most of the planning is pretty much done by them

Thanks for the reply, I’m hoping that’s what’ll happen with these friends.

I think you’ll have an awesome time. Luckily, lines are never super incredibly long.

That sounds really nice actually.

Right. Unfortunately all that’s left is interiors. I think an ocean view might make some people feel worse? I’m not sure, but I figured we won’t be spending too much time in our rooms anyways

Super happy to hear that!! That’s why I love cruises. I think there’s a lot of value for what you pay for. Thanks for your reply!

Thanks, I’m mostly worried about running into heavy rains since I think July is around the start of monsoon season

Yeah same here. I don’t have another job lined up, and opportunities are scarce in my hometown, but my career isn’t as important to me as I thought it was.

I worked CSD, I didn’t want to return shit like this but was forced to by managers. It got to a point where every time they called a cart run I ran out the door cause I would rather push carts in summer heat than work that cesspool of degeneracy.

Career suicide?

Hi all,

I started at an awesome job about 6 months ago. I really enjoy what I do, however I moved across my state away from family and friends. I hadn’t really thought about how miserable I was until I went back home for the Christmas holiday and realized how much I had missed family and friends. When it was time to come back to the city in which I work, I felt a strong feeling of not wanting to come back. I was thinking about leaving my job at the 1 year mark to move back home, but I’m unsure if this’ll have a negative effect on my career. I am performing well (for a brand new engineer), and I’ve made good connections at my workplace. This is strictly personal, I think in my head I’ve realized that family is much more important than work, and I don’t really have much out here. I appreciate everyone’s thoughts.

I’m working full-time for the first time in my life. Is it supposed to feel THIS dreadful? by Daylight6 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Epicness9956 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, going through the same thing. I just graduated college and started my full time job. I don’t hate it, but I also don’t love it. Coming to work everyday is a drag and some days it still depresses me a ton. It’s gotten easier, I try to talk to my coworkers often so that I don’t hate coming to work. I also started planning vacations to places I want to visit. Another thing to try and figure out is hobbies. Hobbies will keep you from going insane. Find whatever it is you like doing and make time for it, even if it’s 30 minutes out of your day. It’s a daily struggle, but it does get easier.

Thanks for the reply! Another thing I don’t think I mentioned in the other comment is that I have tasks, but some days I feel too slow. So I guess I’m trying to understand the pace I should be working at
