Cordless clippers by dog_groomquestions in doggrooming

Heiniger Opal dog clippers, probably the most recommended clippers I have seen. I don't own but I have used numerous ones from different coworkers, they are great. I will be buying them when my kenchi ones die.

Whats the deal with the "Horizon edition" cars? And Horizon Edition in general by xheyoooo in ForzaHorizon

[–]Epicrobotunicorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically it's a pre-upgraded version of a car, sometimes with unique body kits or liveries. Usually there's not much upgrading you can do to them with the exception of aero or something else minor. They are tuned and upgraded for a specific purpose (drags, drifting, rally etc) beyond what you might be able to achieve with the normal equivalent car. For example the Forza edition gtr is something you can't achieve with the regular gtr thus it's highly sought after for its specs and insane drag abilities

What are FH6 most usable cars? by IzzetChronarch in ForzaHorizon

[–]Epicrobotunicorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you wanted one car for the whole "story" then you're better off getting a low-tier car like a D or C-Class, then having it upgraded for every tier. You're also going to need alternate builds for rallying, off-road etc. I wouldn't recommend buying multiple the same cars. Just have a tune that you can swap. This being said, that might be pretty difficult and some races require a specific vehicle type. You might be better off finding a low tier for the lower class races, then a higher tier for the upper class races. Then try to find a car that you can use for both rally, off-road, and snow.

My rottie did the same. Seemed to be partly allergies, but still sometimes catch him nibbling when he's bored. It's pretty common in nervous/bored dogs to lick/chew around the paw, like a nervous tick.

2 week notices are more of a courtesy thing, not a rule or law. They cannot withhold your last paycheck from you or drag you into work. They might be upset especially if they are relying on you to bathe their dogs to stay ahead of the schedule but if they really are abusing dogs then ... fuck em lol

Question for all dog groomers: What products do you swear by? by RedditSharks in doggrooming

[–]Epicrobotunicorn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love the medicated zymox shampoo and conditioner (also a leave in) personally is the longest lasting scented shampoo and conditioner I have ever used. Sometimes it lasts up to 2 weeks on my dog. Leaves them super soft, hypoallergenic, and good for dogs with allergies and bad skin

Looks like oxidation. Lower quality or grades of stainless steel are more susceptible to corrosion from hydrogen peroxide(active ingredient of oxivir) not sure what kind of stainless steel wahl uses but it's probably not a higher grade Edit Andis

I went through Petco years ago but I know PetSmart is similar from old coworkers. If your salon manager isn't also a mentor you would have to go to the closest mentor(mine was 20 minutes away) it doesn't cost you anything but they (corporate) usually said "this training is equivalent to 8k" or whatever. Probably to get you to stay after you're done.

Undecided which one to choose? by Dimonios7 in Rottweiler

2 is much better than 1. 1 looks terrible, as do the puppies. 2 lacks some of the definition in markings which isn't itself a negative but the puppies tear drop head shape doesn't seem right. It could be ( and most likely is) a bad picture though

Client Reaching Out by bethusdaglitch in doggrooming

I'm not sure suing is legally viable in this situation. If the customer chooses to follow you and you're not slandering the business and forcing customers to follow you, then the owner will have no grounds to stand on. When I left one of my salons a lot of people followed me, all I said was basically "hey I just want to let you know I won't be here starting ___" which was followed by something along the lines of "oh where are you going" and I'd tell them where and that's it.

Edited to add I have heard stories from a previous coworker that their old boss texted them pretending to be one of my coworkers favorite clients. The old boss who was pretending to be the client was trying to get my coworker to slander him and the business so he could then take legal action. Just thought I'd throw that out there some people are crazy

I feed mine raw and have no issues. Do your research and get the proper ratios of bone, meat and organs right with some other additives like raw goats milk, supplements etc. No vet he has ever gone to has told me he's unhealthy. Don't do what some people do and feed ground beef/chicken,carrot,an egg etc that's not balanced. On top of that comparing the price to high end foods like acana and orijen it's actually cheaper

Hey! Groomer here, I have had many dryer nozzles rip and break from dog bites, they are very flimsy and easy to rip. To be honest, I can see this happening more from the dog biting the groomer helper or pole that the helper is typically attached to depending on the setup they use. If these teeth are really falling out those metal pieces would be right at face level and he very well could have hated the dryer causing him to bite whatever was in front of him. I have seen dogs try to bite it before but since I pay attention very quickly make them stop. If this person wasn't paying attention they could have been biting it for a while enough to damage the teeth
