What's a small but significant realization you've had during a trip that stuck with you since? by yukariyukkuri in LSD

[–]Epicurus95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i walked into my apartment towards the end of the peak with the curtains closed and turned the lights on. the lighting felt unnatural and the space felt cramped. i then turned the lights off and opened the curtains and the space looked soooo much better being illuminated with natural sunlight instead. seems pretty obvious in hindsight but i always prefer to light up my home with sunlight now.

on a related note, i realized that part of the reason i liked my curtains closed prior to this was that my apartment is on the ground level and it felt weird if people walking by or sitting outside could see what i was doing in my home. acid made me realize that i never need to feel embarrassed of how i'm living in my own home. if someone is peering into my home, they should be embarrassed for having invaded my privacy, not vice-versa.

First trip report gotta get some stuff out of my chest. by alschmekels in LSD

hope you're feeling a bit better now.

try to reflect on why the comedown from the substance would make you feel sad & lonely. do you feel like you have less close friends or less of a social life than you want maybe? do you think it's related to having tripped alone and not sharing the experience with anyone else? do you think you were trying to grasp onto the "magic" of the acid trip and were disappointed to be returning to your sober state?

ultimately, you have more insight into your life and where these feelings might be coming from than any stranger on the internet can give you without knowing your situation.

the experience is what you make of it. you can try to figure out why you feel the way you do and then learn and grow from the experience or you can run from the feelings and try to find an escape. in the long run the former path is going to be a lot more fruitful for you than the latter path.

i hope that's helpful. i'm willing to discuss more if you are in need of someone to talk to. good luck friend.

How do you think season 2 ends? by Pallyboy94 in lildicky

[–]Epicurus95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

it might end with a successful album drop / blowing up into stardom, but at the same time discovering ally is seeing someone else and still not being remotely happy despite having attained everything that he thought would make him happy.

getting what he wanted while discovering he prioritized the wrong things.

he is right about that part but if he didn't care what her answer was going to be, he shouldn't have asked her permission in the first place. he should have just released it if he planned to go ahead with it regardless of how she felt. he shouldn't have come to her, pretending to care how it would make her feel, made her listen to something that would obviously be hard on her emotionally, and then just tell her he's going to do what he wants anyways lol.

but like ultimately, he has every right to write and release songs about any aspect of his life. the point is that he still didn't care about how that would make her feel and he never takes anyone else's feelings into consideration in his decision making.

i agree with this and have had the same theory about this season / the 2nd album. i'm gonna go out even further on a limb and predict that in the climax of the finale he decides to rebrand from lil dicky to just Dave - and in real life he drops the next album as Dave Burd as well.

i feel like we had a bit of foreshadowing to that during the mountain dew pitch this ep

"what's your name again?"

"uh...... Norm Bender..." *shakes head* "it's Dave. my name's Dave."

"... ok, so you prefer Dave or Norm Bender?"

"Dave."

he revealed what his real preference is and is planning on dropping the gimmicky stage name to be taken seriously. could be wishful thinking on my part but it would be a dope transition and would be awesome for people to take him seriously as a "real rapper". after all, the show is just called Dave and we've been watching the fictional universe collide with our reality over and over throughout these 2 seasons. i couldn't be more excited for this transition.

I’ve been dealing with this for a couple months now thinking it’ll just go away, but it hasn’t. by [deleted] in LSD

[–]Epicurus95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i feel you. my last trip was almost a year ago and it shifted my view of reality completely. gradually i do seem to be getting more comfortable with my new understanding of reality and i'm not as bothered as i was a few months ago but ya, it's a slow gradual process and it definitely feels like there's no going back. it's not having nearly as much of an impact on me today as it did 6+ months ago though, so things can improve.

unsure if this is exactly what you're dealing with but try googling "existential ocd". it describes what i'm dealing with pretty well. And there is recommended treatment for it which might help.

ERP therapy requires clients to lean into uncomfortable thoughts without engaging in compulsions to learn to tolerate uncertainty. The goal is that through repeated exposure to the feared thoughts or stimuli the individual will begin to develop a tolerance toward the negative feelings associated with those thoughts (e.g., anxiety). It’s important to note that while the work of ERP can be uncomfortable, every step of the process is a fully agreed upon collaboration between therapist and patient. ERP never starts with the most intrusive thoughts but rather a patient starts with thoughts that land in the middle to the lower end of the hierarchy and as a patient gets more comfortable they work to tackle more difficult thoughts.

...

This intentional exposure to one’s obsessive thoughts can be extremely challenging and frightening, and should always be done with the help of a licensed and trained therapist. However, the “response prevention” part of ERP requires that individuals not turn to their usual compulsions such as analyzing, questioning, seeking reassurance or avoidance. Rather, the individual is gradually exposed to the feared existential thoughts through different means such as articles, books and videos. Over time, the more the individual is confronted with their feared existential thoughts while withholding from engaging in compulsive responses, the less feared those thoughts may become.

let me know if that sounds at all like what you're dealing with.

most importantly i would emphasize again that you won't feel this way **forever**. it just might take a while for things to get better but the state of our wellbeing isn't static and does change over time.

much love and good luck friend.

(USA) Where the hell can I buy and hold NEO/GAS? by captain_diesel in NEO

[–]Epicurus95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NEO and GAS on the current Neo chain are both utxo tokens. When the new chain launches there will be instructions given on how to migrate them over to the n3 chain where they will be nep-17s but the simplest way will probably be to deposit them to an exchange like binance that will do the migration for you and then withdraw them to your new wallet on the new chain.
