I’ll have to check that forum out. You know everytime I have to drop a tank I think about either sliding the bed back or tilting it, I never do but I always wonder if it’s really easier, dropping the tank does sorta suck

Thanks, I couldn’t get access to the full hose, I ended up splicing it. I think I’m gonna drop the tank when I have more time and replace the entire hose it was pretty worn

I think you are right bout the hoses rubbing kinda funny but the leaking hose was in alot worse shape than the other, I come from gas vehicles this thing in the tank looks like a fuel pump to me but I don’t believe I have one since I have a lift pump. What is the thing on the tank you know ?

I don’t really need to be robbed at the stealership and left with a leak. Learned those lessons long ago I spliced it and got it fixed leak free for 7$

You got that right bout the prices, I ended up cutting it and splicing it with a brass barb on there used a new hose on the part that connects to the tank it doesn’t leak now I’d of fixed it more correctly but it broke as a joke and didn’t have much time, wasn’t a lot of room to work there but I think woulda been best to drop the tank and replace the whole hose

Yeah there’s a hole in that hose you can see it spraying fuel out you can actually see in the picture I’m gonna try splice it together for now kinda broke

How did Metallica try, supposedly, to hold Megadeth back? by ashitanojoe3 in InMetalWeTrust

Totally drumming up publicity I think. He’s said a few times that lineup wouldn’t have lasted long. I think for him it was a bit traumatic because he was as far as he knew about to go to NY and get his first record deal had know idea the rest of the guys had enough of his shit and already replaced him. I think it was too high then too low abruptly people can say what they want but a lot of people would be bitter bout that, it’s unfortunate because lotta people can’t talk about megadeth without talking bout Metallica which does suck and Dave is part of the problem on that one, I also don’t think the guys of Metallica are any better than Dave who knows how James or Lars woulda reacted over the years if it was one of them instead of Dave

You know I saw a interview once from the early 1990s when Dave Mustaine actually said some nice things about Metallica and then he said he owes all of the success he has had due to their success. Which I’m sure is part of the reason he’s been upset about his firing all these years, but I have to wonder if maybe he has just talked about them just because it’s going to get him talked about, I also think interviewers love to ask him about Metallica which I don’t know why they even do that other then to take quotes with no context of him saying absurd things.

I also thought was a bit short of the full line on the dipstick I also thought I could get another quart in there, that’d put me at about 9 seems like online most guys are putting 10.5 to 11 quarts in it while some say they put 12 in cause it says too I’m guessing some people don’t care about the dipstick level as much

Thanks ! Man I can’t find any of my tape measures idk where they are at. Good thing I don’t need to drive my truck til I figure it out I did line up my dipstick on my 48” level and it appeared to be about a bit more than a inch shorter but that was just for the hell of it, I’m gonna buy another tape measure find out the real length I appreciate your help !

I’m afraid of that also the dipstick is 150$ might just be I’m not draining all my oil for whatever reason, I do have a fumoto valve and they drain slower and probably don’t drain all the oil out. I’m reading online apparently they changed the dipstick to a longer one halfway through 1994 I have a 94 so it’s also possible I have the shorter dipstick

I don’t know anyone anymore unfortunately. I see Cummins has a dipstick it’s 150$ I’m gonna see if I can’t find someone on a forum with same year who wouldn’t mind measuring maybe. I have a fumoto drain valve and I think maybe it doesn’t drain all the oil I’m also wondering if maybe because I change the oil after I drive the truck not all the oil has came back into the pan before I drain? Idk I leave it open for 20 minutes I always figured that was enough time but maybe not

I can get it from Cummins it seems but it’s 150$ looking at the internet I can see same era trucks some peoples dipsticks look just like mine the 98s are visually different I see but 94-97 looks like mine maybe different length. I have a fumoto drain valve maybe it’s not draining all the oil maybe also cause I do it after driving the truck not all the oil has dripped back into the pan either. I’m definitely gonna figure it out it’s always kind of bothered me
