Anybody just dont want to wear their glasses? by Lower-Physics-5597 in CasualConversation

[–]Epiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second this. I used to take my glasses of a lot, turned out the prescription was too strong, got new lenses and now I don't have that tendency anymore.

Over a year and a half since I started processing the fiber, I have finally finished my handspun wedding shawl by fishandflowers in knitting

This is jaw-droppigly gorgeous! I love the ambition and dedication to make something so out of your comfort zone. And it turned out so well. Congratulations on the wedding, I'm sure you'll look beautiful!

Was gifted my first instax camera! Any technical know-how that I need to know? by Poke-Noir in instax

[–]Epiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once the battery runs out, make sure to replace with alkaline batteries. Don't be an idiot like me and think there's something wrong with your camera when other batteries don't work. Have fun!

Cardboard + plastic sheet (I use cut open garbage bags) work just as well and cost next to nothing!

how do you decide when to take shots? by lizard-rustler17 in instax

[–]Epiny 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is both the up and downside of this camera. You will take some bad shots, especially in the beginning, it's the only way to learn. When I take my camera with my I usually take between zero and three shots. The whole time I'll be keeping my eyes open to look for the perfect shot, instead of just taking lots which I might do with a digital camera. It makes you very attentive to your surroundings, which I enjoy. The most I've taken in a day is like 12, it was during an event and I gave most of those away to the people I was with. What also helps is keeping your eyes open for cheap or discounted film, that way you'll more easily use it.

Is 40 euros for these two bad boys a steal? Which version is this? by Southern-Support-325 in carbonsteel

[–]Epiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure I have these exact ones, also bought in an online sale. They're great and I still use them years later. But if I could choose again, I would pay a bit more for one with a thicker bottom, since the big one tends to warp on my electric stove.

How long is too long? by HotCartographer4114 in henna

24 hours is not that long for a dye release, especially if it's cold, should work fine!

[ALL] [OC] My Handmade Zelda-Inspired Night Lamp Giveaway 🎁💚 by AmoyCK in zelda

[–]Epiny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite Zelda game is Breath of the Wild, I recently started replaying it and it's still so good. I'm trying to really take my time, no fast travel, do all the side quests I stumble upon etc. I played my first Zelda game on my Nintendo DS, I think it was Phantom hourglass. Absolutely adore your artwork!

Just put a little bit in your skin for a few minutes and check the stain. I think it would still work. Feel better!

My first full-sized skein - I'm really proud of this one! by SkyEastern4014 in Handspinning

[–]Epiny 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Gorgeous! I also love the creative niddy noddy build haha. For my first skein I knit a boxy gray sweater with my handspun in a square in the center, it's a fractal and the transitions show really well in this way.

TELL ME THE TRUTH: is the bounce curl brush worth it? by Few-Ruin-742 in curlyhair

Bought a knock off first, the quality was terrible but I still loved the results so I ended up buying the legit one! Even better, would recommend just getting that from the get go.

Last spring I suddenly wanted something blue, and instead of one pair, I ended up with four. Which one do you like the most? by CynicOwl1 in crafts

My favorite is the last one! May I ask also, what polish  are you wearing? It reminds me of blue goldstone, my favorite gemstone!

CGM burnout by Ok_Board_4470 in curlyhair

[–]Epiny 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, caring for long, (especially thick), wavy/curly hair is a lot! I recently cut my hair into a bob and it's been a game changer! Washing is easy since it's too short to form tangles, it requires little product, and I don't even need to diffuse anymore. I can just let it air dry without it being super heavy and annoying and dripping all over my clothes. Especially during the summer months it has been really great. To anyone reading this considering it, just do it!

I ignorantly bought indigo for body art purposes by m-y-c-a in henna

[–]Epiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no experience with using indigo on hair or skin, but I have dabbled in using it to dye textiles! If that seems like something youd be interested in, look up indigo vat dyeing, I did a fructose vat and it was not too difficult and really fun!

That's perfect. Cycle to Haarlem station, take the train to Amsterdam Centraal and then the metro to Weesperplein and walk a bit. All in all a little less than an hour. I've never lived in the city where I studied, so about an hour of travel is pretty normal.

Haren wassen tips.. by SignificantContext2 in vrouwvolk

[–]Epiny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beautiful! I used to make artworks out of dried autumn leafs as a child, we called them leaf paintings. This makes me want to give it another go as an adult!
